Ok, thanks much for the replies!! Now I know to just wait it out until Cox discovers the problem. Calling tech help is useless. They"re totally clueless!!!!!!!

all things updated, just got off support chat and Apple was blamed. Sounds like something happened today affecting functionality. Multiple other email accounts are working fine on same device. Receiving emails are fine, just sending with an error message connection to outgoing server smtp.cox.net outgoing failed. Is there an alternative outgoing server option with Cox.
Definitely not an Apple issue, as much as they would like to think it is. I"m having the same problem on my PC through Outlook.
