Anyone else having YouTube app issues over wifi? Started last night. Nothing loads up as The app does not work on ANY device whether it’s an iOS or Android device or even a Samsung tv when using cox wifi. As soon as I go to cellular data, the app works immediately.

Also I tried to use google's DNS primary 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4 on the Orbi router but unfortunately YouTube App still doesn’t work over wifi

Hello! I have an Netgear Orbi RBR20 router + one satellite. Manually resetted both the modem And router. Reset modem using cox app. Completely set up router as if it were Brand new as well

YouTube.com acts a little funky on a computer where my kids have to spam click a link on a video and it finally works.

Seems to be fine on my iOS device going to YouTube.com and I am able to sign in without issue.

when on cox wifi, One older Android device shows a 429 error and on my iPhone, it shows errors fetching list for multiple YouTube accounts.

we have 3 iPhones, 2 iPads, 3 android tablets, 2 android phones and 2 Samsung TVs in which the app doesn’t work over WiFi at all. On the Samsung TV, it can’t even sign in under “Guest”.  All devices have the latest YouTube app and most updated operating systems

appreciate any and all assistance you could possibly provide! Also no connectivity issues with literally anything else but YouTube app. Netflix, Disney +, Roblox all work over wifi for example

What model modem do you have? You said you reset the modem via the app, which makes me think you are using a Panoramic gateway. If so, do you have it in bridge mode? Also, does the problem happen if you connect direct to the modem?

Also, when you say "Cox wifi" do you mean the network name(SSID) called "CoxWifi" or just your wireless connection from the Orbi?  The reason why that is important is CoxWifi is the SSID for Cox's hotspot. That's the network that Panoramic gateways and AP on the pole broadcast so you can get online when away from home.

One thing you can try is change the DNS on your Orbi. See here on how. Instead of the DNS servers in that article though, use google's DNS which is 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.

Last, try accessing from a VPN. Opera GX has a free VPN built into their browser you could test with.

Sorry the stand alone modem is an Arris Touchstone CM8200. I used the cox app to “reset equipment”. I did cycle the modem manually once too by unplugging for 1-2 minutes before plugging back in. When calling it “coxwifi”, yes sorry I meant the wireless connection from the Orbi router. This sounds lame of me but how do I direct connect to the modem and bypass the router? Also yes while using a VPN, the YouTube app works on my iPhone… will give Opera GX browser a try on a computer

    Only over wifi? Wired works?

What model router do you have?

Can you get to normal Youtube.com in a browser?

  • DC9007, I am sorry you're having issues accessing the YouTube App on our wifi. I was not able to duplicate this issue but there could be many different reasons for this. Please send us an email to Cox.Help@Cox.Com with your full name, address and link to this forum.
