You must have a bumpy rump. Accessibility Settings > Voice Guidance.
As I said, Voice Guidance is off but it’s still happening.

Another way to deactivate Voice Guidance is to program your B key to launch Voice Guidance. After reprogramming the key, exit all menus and double-tap the B key. Contour will pop up an option to either enable, disable or just toggle back-and-forth until it catches.
The Guidance feature is kinda buggy.
- Becky2 years agoModeratorThank you, Bruce! I got so caught up in the Voice options that I forgot to mention the B button.
@CuriousJ, since Voice Guidance is Off, turn it on and off a few times. Like Bruce says, there are some quirks with this feature. Also, try resetting your cable box by unplugging the box for 2 minutes then plugging it back in. Give the box a full 15 minutes to complete the reset. I'm not sure if this will work, but give it a try. Let us know. I can send a signal to your box if needed. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator - CuriousJ2 years agoContributor
Nothing is working. Double tapping B key just controls CC. Single tapping B key takes me to Accessibility where I see that Voice Guidance is OFF. I toggled it on & off, didn’t help. Reset the box, didn’t help.

B key is programmed, VG is OFF.

I didn't ask if the B key was programmed, I asked if you could reprogram the B key to launch VG because this will give you another interface to turn on/off VG.
If this doesn't work, exchange the box.

How is your B key programmed? Accessibility Settings > Remote Shortcut
- Becky2 years agoModeratorHi CuriousJ, I think we've all had the experience of sitting on our remotes at one point or another! The key to your question--and your answer--is "a voice speaking extremely fast". Voice Guidance offers 3 'Speech Rate' options; Regular, Fast, and Fastest. There are several ways to access the Voice Guidance settings, so we have several troubleshooting paths to choose from. You can speak "voice guidance" into your remote, you can speak "accessibility" into your remote, you can press the B button on your remote, and you can access the Settings menu as Bruce suggests: Contour button / Gear icon (Settings) / Accessibility Settings / Voice Guidance. Please confirm that you were able to get this resolved. -Becky, Cox Support Forums Moderator
