The username is admin and password is password. All lower case. What does the login page look like? Do you have any other routers you might be connecting to instead?
Also, can you explain how the coaxial gets from the street to the room the modem is in? Do you have Cox TV service? If so, any splitters you can bypass to see if that will fix the internet until the tech can come out.

No routers, we have 3 Desktop computers all connected by CAT-6 ethernet cable direct, from back of Gateway, straight to each computer. No splitters, we each have our own direct plug in.
The Coaxial comes from the pole behind our house, then it's secured to the house and they drilled a hole thru, pushed it thru and put an outlet on the inside. that outlet has a threaded screw that the line attaches to and from there it screws directly into the back of the gateway.
We do not have Cox TV Service, the only thing we get from Cox is Internet.
And ty for your help. I copied what you said and will show the technician when they come out on Tuesday.

The coaxial doesn't connect to a ground block somewhere in a enclosure box? Either way, if you have no splitters, the signal from the tap/street is bad. Let us know what the technician finds. Good luck!
