Just leave your call waiting enabled. Why do you want to disable it. I had the opposite problem a while ago because I couldn't enable it for some oddball reason but then it started working again 🤔

I want to disable it because many of the call are junk solicitaions. I don't need to be interrupted by someone I don't want to talk to anyway. If it's someone I want to talk to it can go to voicemail when I am on the phone, and I can return the call whenever I want.

Try *38 on your phone to see if that will work.

Cox doesn't do a good job of updating informational websites. But, since you only want to use a phone for Voice Tools access, it would have been easy to see *38 doesn't work. When you press either *37 or *38, you hear the following:
"We are sorry. The service you attempted to reach is no longer supported. Please contact Cox Customer Service for assistance."
An email to Cox verified Call Waiting may only be turned OFF from the website.
