Porting from Bundled Service
We have a bundle of services with Cox including Internet, TV, Home Phone, and Home Life Security. I want to port the phone number over to Ooma. When we do this, will this cause a cancellation of the bundle of services, or will it only affect the phone service so that we can cancel only the phone service from our bundle? What I don't want is for Cox to cancel all the services just because I port the phone number. Thanks in advance!
Outgoing VM Message Garbled or Cut Off at the Beginning
I have a rather strange problem with my cox voicemail. Intermittently, my greeting is garbled or cut off at the beginning of the script. This happens whether I record a personal greeting or use the default with only first and last name. I have replaced the modem (PW6), checked and re-checked the connections, and rebooted and reset the modem multiple times, all to no avail. I can make and receive calls with no problem, but when I or anyone else calls the number and waits for the voicemail to pick up, the problem occurs about half the time. I have voicemail set to pick up after 4 rings, and have noticed that sometimes one or more of the rings are shorter or longer than usual. I have tried setting voicemail pickup for fewer or more rings, but the problem persists independently of that setting. Does anyone have a clue what could be going on? I have talked to support, and they have suggested it could be a line issue and I might need to have a tech come out. In March on the 16th or 17th, I bought an iPhone 15 pro max from you with a $300 customer discount, but the order was canceled and a few days later my money was refunded when I bought the phone at 1013.49. $ was reduced by $300, but on April 16, I received a notification via gmail that I had to pay the iPhone 15pro max phone bill for $1013.49 and it would automatically be paid on April 17 and I immediately I was immediately startled, why do I have this bill, this phone was canceled on April 17, why are you charging me extra money and I have never received a phone, I immediately went to the local store for help and they couldn't help so they told me to call cox's support department and I called for support and they transferred me from one department to another and I I still don't know if I will get a refund because on April 17, $1013.49 was deducted from my account and I didn't buy or receive anything. You guys said you would contact me after 48 hours but until now. I still haven't received any calls and I'm very confused as I don't know if I can get my money back because it's a big deal for me, I hope they get refunded, you can check the history. My order can be seen that the iPhone 15pro max I ordered has been canceled and there is no information that I have received the goods and somehow I have an invoice for 1013.49$ for the iPhone 15 pro max that I ordered. cancel
When will cox mobile support Google Pixel phones wi-fi calling?
When we switched to cox mobile from Verizon we were told that in home wi-fi calling was supported. Apparently it is only supported on iPhone and Samsung phones. We need this capability because our home does not have good connectivity to a cell tower. We knew this and made the decision to switch because of the wi-fi calling capability of cox. I have already escalated this through support and they have no answer except to refer to the web page linked above . Samsung phones were enabled in August 2023. I also asked about network extenders which we used to use with Verizon before they rolled out wi-fi calling. Cox mobile does not support network extenders. I know wi-fi calling is possible because we used to have it with Verizon on the same phones we currently have. When will cox mobile roll out in-home wi-fi calling for other android devices like a Google Pixel 7? If there is no firm date or at least a target date, then we will need to switch providers again. Extremely disappointed.
Cox Mobile Plan without Cox Internet
Im a 4 year Cox Internet Customer and recently added Cox Mobile + a new device. Im moving across my state and Cox doesnt provide Internet Service in this location, would I be able to keep my Cox Account / Cox Mobile plan if I Terminate my Cox Internet once I move?
COX Support Response is really poor
I wanted to unlock my device and for that i contacted support team via Chat. I had to wait 10-15 min for each response from Support while chatting. Very Poor Service and response. When I asked why taking this long it just "We are checking please wait" I really need to think of switching back to other service provider.Lost Mobile Phone cannot be removed from system
Lost my Cox purchased mobile flip phone. Went to the retail store with substitute iPhone that was approved. Retail store gave me a new SIM card and told me to wait a few hours. It has been 13 days and no activation on my substitute iphone and Cox flip phone still listed in my account. I have spoken to at least 10 techs on this. Responses varied from "wait a few hours" to "it takes 5 working days" to "I can only escalate this to our highest tech support in Atlanta". I even received another SIM card from Allison who thought that might work. I just can't understand why the lost flip phone cannot be removed from the system by the local retail store. From what I can gather, the deletion of a mobile phone in the system to be replaced by another phone also in the system is not in the script the techs follow so they just come up with their own response to make the customer go away. Now I am waiting for the tech support gurus in Atlanta but have no idea when they might get back to me or even confirmation that they received my ticket. What is it going to take?
Email not working.
A few months ago, Cox email app stopped sending and receiving email to my iPhone 8. I called COX and Apple and both blamed the other. I upgraded my phone to IPhone ES thinking it was the old phone’s problem. Not so. Still not able to receive or send email on my email app. Any suggestions?
New to Landline Phone Service
I have an older, basic type of home phone that I plugged into the Panoramic WiFi modem. Picked it up and no dial tone. Anyone know any tips? Does it need to be a certain kind of phone? The one I have is not digital, so CallerID and other features are irrelevant for the time being. (Times are hard). I have contacted a Samsung representative who suggested I go to my local Cox store but am wondering if I can save a trip! I have Cox Complete Care, should I reach out to them instead?Upgraded Modem but No Dial Tone
Recently, our household upgraded to the Panoramic Wi-Fi PW7 model modem. However, we have not had any dial tone for weeks. Family friends on my cell phone have told us no one picks up the landline calls. I've worked with the Cox Support online. They mentioned I may have to get a technician to come out for $100 dollars. I'm just wondering if this is a line/wiring issue that is not compatible with the new equipment? Wi-Fi and TV works fine. I'm just curious.be on alert for scam calls saying they are from COX
I received a call just now saying that there had been a breakdown that effected my internet connection and they wanted me to get on my internet do they could show me how to fix it. I just told them I knew this was a scam and hung up. The caller id said US Foods and the number said 480-245-1487.Can a phone account be locked so that the number can't be ported out from Cox?
My father's phone number was ported to another carrier. He didn't want that, but who knows what the other company said or did. In my option they were preying on the elderly. I am hoping that there is a way stop this from happening again by locking it down somehow. Is this kind of thing possible? Maybe require an additional verification step on the Cox side of the transfer so there is a double check before the transfer happens? When this happened, it took about a week to figure out why the phone stopped working, and then a week to get the number ported back from the other carrier so it was pretty frustrating. Thoughts? My new IPhone 15 pro max arrived yesterday. I activated my phone with a new number instead of transfering a number. Unfortunately getting a new number from Cox was a big mistake. After an hour phone call they finally tell me that this can’t be done since I selected a new line upon activation instead of transferring a number. Apparently I’m stuck with a new Cox number and I can never port my Verizon number over to my new iPhone 15. Will be returning my device and possible filing a CPUC/FCC compliant.Odd phone call
We have received two phones calls from844-302-3338. The message claims to be Cox responding to a phone call from us. We have not phoned Cox. The call is not going to the phone number provided by Cox. It is amazing how La. Workforce, during pandemic caused me to **bleep** near lose what I owned due to the Scam they claimed during Covid.. I am on total permanent disability for 21 years now. I HAVE BEEN WITH COX FOR 36 years and can't get a cell phone BECAUSE THEY RELY ON A BANK TO FINANCE A PHONE!!!! Loyalty MEANS NOTHING TO THESE PEOPLE. Guess I will bring my business elsewhere!!!! I was told about this BS. I Truly don't get it my credit has been butchered.....LATER COX......
Landline outgoing call are garbled
This has been going on for a while. I can hear calls, but the caller either cannot hear me or it sounds very distorted. So far I've had 2 Cox techs out to my home. They replaced the phone modem, tested the internal wiring and external connections and it still does not work. I plugged in a known working phone directly into the modem and it still doesn't work. The Cox tech plugged his test set directly into the modem with the same results. I need my home phone. I'm getting ready to drop Cox completely. I need something reliable.
