Horrible. I was able to access my email via Yahoo sign in. Yahoo didn't even recognize my wife's email address so she is now without her primary email address😡We use Outlook as our 3rd part email app (and contacts and calendars) with both of us being familiar with Outlook after years in the corporate world. We are unable to link to Outlook even after removing and adding back as a new account! Android mail no longer working either. The coup de gras? Yahoo chat is an automated attendant and their customer service offering if you would like to speak with a person, is fee based! yjcmtsu If we weren't in a location where we have no alternative than Cox for internet, television & telephone we would have been long gone. Oh, and did they reduce the cost to shift the email burden onto the customer? NFW
Update. I was able on the day(s) of rollout (1st day, my email address, 3rd day my wife's) able to establish access via Yahoo website & Yahoo app (following the instructions Cox provided) and Android. Delete the accounts, add back with the new Yahoo info (cox email address and NEW Yahoo password). Still unable to get Outlook to recognize the email addresses until this morning.
I called FREE Yahoo help, 866-562-7250 and walked through the Outlook set-up process, total time spent including waiting on hold for CSR, 36m.
In brief you need to login to Yahoo account security, login.yahoo.com/account/security, and click on the generate password link, type in 3rd party email app, Outlook, and click on copy in the auto generated password text box.
Then go to Outlook and perform the email account repair process, or create new email process if you have already deleted) using the Yahoo security generated password.
Use the correct incoming server path (imap.mail.yahoo.com), use 993 as incoming server port, check SSL option; and the correct outgoing server path (smtp.mail.yahoo.com), use 465 as outgoing server port, check SSL option and if prompted Request Authentication = Yes and select the radio button use same info option.
I hope this saves someone the time I lost trying to set up Outlook after Cox email migrated to Yahoo.

Thanks for the heads up. I haven't receive the go email yet but I expect it soon. I use Outlook email client also. Cox Yahoo need to update their documentation to provide the details and correct asap. This is a real issue for many customers. We use email for work and other responsibilities. We don't have time to wait 24 hours for servers to work, or talk/wait for customer service. We are all losing time here. Updating pop3 and smtp servers and port settings is a very common and relatively easy change to make. IF the host servers and programs were setup properly. Frankly I think. this may be more of a access rights (server admin) management/processing issue. Whatever this is a common design and workflow.
I hope the moderators are reading these updates and informing their management that they need to update their information asap.

Tom - it worked!!!! I can't thank you enough for your post. I've spent HOURS trying to get Outlook to work after the whole Cox / Yahoo SNAFU. You've saved my sanity.

Thanks for the information. I have not received the final go email as yet but I am expecting very soon. I have multiples accounts; and use PC Windows Outlook 2019 (suite) and pop3 as primary email client management app.
I have read your notes 3 times now picking up important facts. A couple more questions.
1 Reading about this app password generation - "If Two-step verification isn't turned on, you'll need to do that before you continue. Then select Generate app password."
Is this necessary (turn on two step verification) before generating password? Since this seems to be a challenging set up, I am trying to use a basic KISS principle (keep it simple) and avoid any additional program scripts or authentication processes to this already delicate setup process. Your thoughts?
2 I presume your recommendations above works for (for PC Outlook 2019 Outlook Client app w/POP3). (Your scenario seems very similar to my configuration). I ask because I am reading some threads and (as you know), there are multiple Outlook scenarios (versions) Outlook PC client 20xx, Outlook for Windows, New Outlook, Outlook 365 etc
Thanks

Worked for me on Windows 10 PC using Microsoft Office 2019 Outlook. Stymied for two days until I found that getting the Yahoo generated password link worked using Outlooks repair function for my existing xxxx@cox.net email address.

Thanks, Tom.
This worked for me, using Windows 10 and Outlook 2019.
Cox should have published this or at least a link, such as the below!
Good luck, everyone!

Tom, yours was the most clear solution to this mess-of-a-transition that I've read and it worked perfectly! Took a while for all my years of email to transition over on Outlook but it appears it's finally complete. I'm going to try to make a post to move your solution to the top today. It took me about 3 hours of fiddling with others' suggestions; none of them worked but your saying "repair" in Outlook made the AHA lightbulb go on. Thanks.

Tom - most of what you provided worked. Took me a few tires before I found where to enter the incoming/outgoing server port. Outlook pulled down all of the current e-mails from Yahoo, but I ran into a problem I'm still trying to figure out. When I composed a new/test e-mail to send, I got an error saying the IMAP server closed the connection. I clicked on the Details button for more details and got: IMAP4rev1 Server logging out, Protocol: IMAP, Server imap.mail.yahoo.com, Port 993. I rechecked the settings you gave and everything matched. Any suggestions while I sit here and think evil thoughts about Cox?

My switchover notice just came yesterday and I had to do a lot of searching to get to this point. This did work for me with Microsoft Outlook, though I think there's a typo and that the incoming server port should be 995 instead of 993.
But now I am struggling to get the transition to work inside my iPhone mail client. Anyone have any tips about that?
