Why would an app require an ultimate plan?
fwiw, i hadn't mentioned that the app was required, just paying for one of the ultimate plans.

Streaming requires...at most...25 Mbps so why would anyone require a data plan at 12× this rate (300-500 Mbps)?
Furthermore, according to Peacock, its app requires only 2.5 Mbps. If Cox is actually fulfilling their obligation to the OP with 150 Mbps, OP could have 30 simultaneous Peacock streams and still cover the network overhead.

multiple tv's running live shows!!
they might be using several devices, like the folks who run multiple fire sticks/etc, then whine that service is slow.
i remember the old days when 20mbps wouldn't even stream live baseball without constant buffering.
30 devices theoretically!!

This wasn't your original point to begin our conversation.
You said, "...it...takes an ultimate plan for peacock, hbomax, etc."
Not true. Peacock would work on a 50 Mbps plan. Multiple users, however, would dictate a higher plan no matter what they'd be doing.
20 Mbps could have always streamed a baseball game. It was probably your hardware and software of the "old days."
