passwords on email and cox account

I have cox cable and cox email.  I assumed the passwords for these two were distinct and separate, but today trying to change the cable account password seems to have screwed up the email account.  Anybody have any information or advice about this???

    I apologize for any confusion. Your Primary Cox User ID and Password for you account is the same for your Cox email account. If you need to add new users for your Cox account you can check this link for how to Managage secondary users. www.cox.com/.../managing-secondary-users-in-my-account.html
