HD channel lineup
I just received an email about COX’s plan to move HD channels.
This is a bad decision and does not make sense. Many people, like myself, have smart remotes, many DVR settings and other home automation that rely on current channel placement. Please reconsider!

Dear Barry,
On June 12th, Cox will relocate High Definition (HD) channels to where you find their equivalent Standard Definition (SD) channels today. That means you'll be able to access your shows and movies with higher picture quality on shorter, easy-to-remember channel numbers.
This change will happen automatically. Your DVR recordings of HD channels will not be affected by the channel number change. But HD shows that are currently set to record in SD will need to be set to record in HD. Once complete, you'll be able to enjoy all your favorite HD shows and movies.

WHAT IF THERE IS NO HD VERSION OF A CHANNEL?
In these instances, the SD version will remain at its current position.
WILL I STILL BE ABLE TO FIND HD CHANNELS AT THEIR CURRENT NUMBERS?
Yes. You will be able to find HD channels positioned above channel 1000 at their current numbers.

Sincerely,
Cox Communications
If you have an HD-capable television connected via a Cox mini box, you will be able to view TV Starter and TV Essential channels in High Definition by tuning to either the two-digit or three-digit Standard Definition channel or the corresponding HD Channel in the 1000–series range. For example, with a mini box, The Weather Channel may be viewed in HD on either channel 43 or channel 1043 (the Weather Channel numbers in your market may be different). If your television is connected via equipment other than a mini box, such as a Cox HD receiver or a Cox-provided CableCARD together with a CableCARD compatible retail device (and a Cox-provided Digital Tuning Adaptor for certain channels), programming is available in high definition only at the HD Channel position. Customers in the Tulsa service area with Contour receivers will be able to view available High Definition version of channels, by tuning to either the two–digit or three–digit channel number.
