Random lag spikes
Hello , I've been getting random lag spikes for some quite time when I play on xbox and pc. Recently I upgraded my service to gigablast. But it still does it , I've been doing speed test when theres no issues and when I get spikes. I get around 560mb download & 3mb upload on a good moment. 190mb - 300mb & 0.5mb upload when I get spiked. Also my router just loses internet at random times . I have a couple people connected on my router but they mostly watch videos or go on social media. Just mostly affects me whenever I play games. Don't know if I need things to be checked out or what.4KViews0likes3CommentsArris Modem Widespread Malware Attack DNS posioning!!
There is definitely something going on with internet service. Apparently Arris Modem/Router has a critical backdoor that hasn't been patched. Last month my entire network was compromised. DNS traffic was being redirected to malcious servers. This was very well done, I think I may have been infected for at least 2 months. The attack was stealth. Symptoms Empty folders Timestamp manipulation Hides malicious applications, in random folders, and alters timestamp to make it hard to detect early on. Controls the clicks of computer mouse. Keylogger Downloads fake certificates Task manager had tons of .exe processors Updates legit software with malicious script Screenshots, video capture. System restore or installing Windows 10 will try and make it look like a fresh install but really it's fake, made to look just like the real thing. Then came the botnet activity and, Denial of Service, and then my router was destroyed. Even after I unplugged my computer from the network, they were still able have some control. Any devices that were conected to the network will be affected Internet would disconnect Hacker has replaced my network connection with different network that was redirecting my connection to hacker server. So I was given a new router new IP address, and I tested it on a different computer that was unaffected and I monitored for about a week. Then I start noticing suspicious activity Devices Managment installed 10 different type of Network adapters. Then IP address change and DNS traffic was being spoofed again. Cox Customer Service and Technicians don't see a problem. According to them the routers are very secured and there isn't a backdoor lol. There is an entire article about Arris routers. Anybody with similar experience!!!!1.7KViews0likes0CommentsSuspiciously High Data Usage, Netgear CM1000 Modem errors and Connection Issues...
I cancelled my contract with AT&T and switched over to Cox Gigablast last year for $119 a month. After the first few months of exceeding the 1TB data cap I went ahead and upgraded to the unlimited plan ($49.99/mo) to avoid all the overcharges. I've been having a lot of connection problems and intermittent upload/download speeds the past several months. Went to the Cox website to see if there was a fix and noticed my data usage is still high (roughly 2TB a month). Considering I really only play Xbox One and use Chromecast to watch shows on Hulu/YouTube TV (720p/1080p only), I'm a little suspicious. I checked the event log for my Netgear CM1000 modem and noticed a bunch of errors piled up such as: RNG-RSP CCAP Commanded Power Exceeds Value Corresponding to the Top of the DRW Dynamic Range Window violation TLV-11 - unrecognized OID; I'll add the event log and cable connection info below, if someone could take a look and help me make sense of all this I'd greatly appreciate it. So who all has issues with their speeds not being consistent or instead just losing connection to the internet completely? I find myself driving up my cellphone bill more often then not since I have to rely on my cellphones internet to do most things at home since the connection from COX seems to not work most of the time. I know I have talked to a group of people from work that also have a facebook thread talking about this same issue with their speeds and connections constantly going out only to be told it is their cable modem so they buy a new one only to have the same issue. I myself have done this in the past a few times as well and it gets old. I had to sign a contract for internet service just a few months back and I do the exact same stuff with my internet as I did before and sometimes even less (sometimes by choice other times since internet is down) I feel like I definitely dont want to pay more for the same terrible service it seems I keep getting. But the Internet rates seem like they constantly go up and we get less for it. I have been made to feel like I am not worth having as a customer by customer service many times when getting an attitude that seems like "well if you dont like it go somewhere else" . Anybody else get the same kind of issues or feeling that COX really doesn't care about their customers at all? Seems like more and more they just care about the next swindle they can pull to get more money and give less.636Views0likes2Comments
