Internet dropping multiple times a day
I've been having some issues with my internet dropping numerous times a day, the only solution being to reset my router which seems to re-sync the router with the modem and all is well again. I had a tech out recently and he replaced a few splitters, ran a new cable to the main drop for the building and said it all looked okay, however I'm still having some issues, and looking for any advice. Equipment is a Motorola SB6141 modem and a TPLink Archer C1200 router, both were purchased brand new in May of last year and have been fine with no issues since. I've factory reset the router and set it back up from scratch as well as ensured the firmware is up to date, but no changes. Any advice?1.3KViews0likes2CommentsSevere Packet Loss - Noise issues
For the last several months, we've had techs come out to the property to address packet loss. We've moved the modem, replaced our router and modem several times, and replaced some connections outside the home. The issue is still there, and I am unable to play games like Counterstrike without rubber-banding crazily. The last time a tech came out, he stated that it's "unlikely" maintenance will come out to address the issue, because it seems "fine" on their end. It's clearly not fine. He mentioned that we are at the very end of our neighborhood, and it's possible that there's noise, causing issues with bandwidth. This is a consistent issue. When running a ping test, the time (ms) is consistently between 14ms-50ms, but shoots up as high as 492ms. I've tested a wired connection on both my PC and laptop, and the results have been the same. This has been incredibly frustrating, and the tech visits have been endless. What are we even paying for? Edit: Any advice would be helpful. The last thing the tech on the property said before he left was, "to keep calling us until it's fixed". My last resort is to switch providers.1.2KViews0likes5CommentsDirect burial coax cable
We are moving our internet services to a house which is serviceable yet there needs to be a line run from the home to the street, a total distance of about 700-feet. We planned on installing the line from the house ourselves, and are wondering if RG-11 Direct Burial Coax with a signal amplifier isthe right type to use. The technician can then connect the buried line to the pole. We are wiring the connection into the house with RG-6 coax.Any feedback would be appreciated.499Views0likes1Comment
