Cox email via Outlook
I have two Cox e-mail addresses and one third party address. I can send and receive, via Outlook, on the third party email address. I cannot send anything on the two Cox emails. I can receive just fine, but nothing goes out and I get this error: cxr-obgw-6003a.stratus.cloudmark.com cmsmtp Connection Rejected - see www.spamhaus.org/.../66.182.122.242 AUP#IPBL00001 I have deleted the accounts and redid them, without success. Does anybody have any ideas? I do have the latest Outlook. Thank you.522Views0likes1CommentI fixed my Outlook email problem after Cox "maintenance"
Hi all, Like all (?) Outlook users, I lost the ability to receive mail a week ago (I could still send). I use Windows 10 Pro, version 1903 (OS build 18362.746). I am using Outlook Version 1911 (build 12228.20332). I fixed my connection issue by disabling the use of TLS 1.0 by Windows 10.I suspect the "maintenance" was to require TLS 1.2 connections. Our Outlook clients are trying to connect using TLS 1.0 and get rejected. Here's how I did it. The first step may not be required -- I think it was the second step that was definitive. NOTE: These directions are essentially the same as those here:https://windowsreport.com/how-to-disable-tls-1-0/ 1. Disable TLS 1.0 in Internet Settings Press Windows Key + S [This will bring up Search] Type "internet options" into search bar The Internet Properties window pops up Select the "Advanced" tab Scroll down to the bottom, the "Security" section. Uncheck "Use TLS 1.0" Note: I also unchecked TLS 1.1, and I checked Use TLS 1.3 (experimental). You may not need to do that. 2. Edit the Registry to Disable TLS 1.0 Press Windows Key + R [this brings up the "Run" window] type "regedit" in Run to run the registry editor Then, in the left-hand tree view, open up this key path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SecurityProviders\SCHANNEL\Protocols I couldn't see TLS 1.0 and Client subkeys went I arrived at the end of the above key path, so I had to create them. To create them: right-click on Protocols and select New > Key then enter "TLS 1.0" as the key title Next, right click on the TLS 1.0 key you just created, and select New > Key again. Enter "Client" as the title. Then, select the Client key, and in in the empty-space to the right of it, right-click and select New > DWORD (32-bit) Value Enter "Enabled" as the new DWORD's title The default value for this new Enabled DWORD is 0 (zero), which disables TLS 1.0. Finally, restart Windows (reboot). My Outlook IMAP Settings for Cox The above procedure should have restored your prior configuration to a working state. If it's not, here are is my working Outlook configuration. Recall that I am using Windows 10, with OutlookVersion 1911 (build 12228.20332) as part of Office 365. Note that I use IMAP and not POP. It Outlook, select the File menu In the Account Information screen, press the "Account Settings" button, then select "Server Settings" The IMAP Account Settings -- Incoming mail -- window appears: Now press the "Outgoing mail" link in this window. Now the IMAP settings for outgoing mail appears: Good Luck & Merry Christmas!3.4KViews1like0CommentsCox.net email addresses not receiving verification emails from Outlook.com
Greetings, I have a couple of Outlook.com email addresses that I use. In Outlook.com's security settings, I want to set my Cox.net email address to receive any security notifications or codes sent by Outlook to verify my account when I change a security setting in my Outlook accounts. But my Cox email accounts never receive them. In other words, I can't use my Cox email account to verify that I'm the owner of my Outlook.com account. I've tried my different Cox email addresses and none of them receive verification codes from Outlook. I've checked my Webmail accounts, disabled all Spam filtering, checked Spam and all other folders...and still nothing. But if I send normal email from my Outlook.com addresses to my Cox.net addresses, those come through and vice versa. Please advise how to resolve this or have Cox correct this blocking issue, since Outlook.com is a major provider of email services and Cox shouldn't be blocking them, especially security & verification emails. Thank you.1.3KViews0likes1CommentMS outlook email problem
After once again sitting on the phone, now for 45 minutes, and listening to 'we are experiencing higher than expected call volume' every few minutes, I've had it. I can't hang on the phone all day for help. I have a Mac Pro and I run MS outlook 2011 on it. I was on the phone upgrading my security setting as required several weeks ago. Everything worked for that day. But now, there is a problem with being logged out every 15 minutes or so. I have been changed to three people now and then go on another waiting list to be on hold. This is insanity. A box comes up and says I don't have the correct authentication. But when I check, my user name and password is there. Once I log in again, I can receive and send mail, but it keeps logging me out. Have rebooted, waited several days, contacted Apple, and hung on hold for ages with Cox. The last guy said there have been email problems, but really can we get some service to deal with this? It was working before I changed the security settings. So now it's been an hour on hold. Transferring me from one person who knows nothing to yet another. Can't wait any longer now!! Please, someone give me written instructions no how to fix this. Thank you.4.1KViews0likes8Comments
