As the title says, I'm trying to set up my XR11-RF remote with my Majority Bowfell soundbar. I have my soundbar connected to my Element TV, which only has optical as an audio source. Any help would be much obliged. Thank you very much.1.1KViews0likes4CommentsCan't pair Contour remote with new TCL Series 6 Roku TV
I just bought a new TCL Series 6 Roku TV and can't pair my Cox Contour remote to control it (power on/off, change inputs, etc.). I'm able to control my TV's sound with the Contour remote, though, but that's because I have a Sony soundbar that's connected to the TV via optical cable, and I was able to find a Sony code that let me pair it with the Contour remote. When I push the on/off button on my Contour remote, all that switches on/off is the Sony soundbar, and the TCL TV doesn't change state. I've tried all of the TCL-specific codes that Contour remote setup suggested, but none of them work, so for now I'm stuck having to use both the Contour remote and the TCL remote. Has anyone else encountered this issue where you can't pair the Contour remote with a TCL TV? If so, how did you fix it? Thanks in advance!Solved7.7KViews0likes1CommentControl Contour DVR with third-party remote?
Hi, I recently started using Cox and justgota new TCL Series 6 Roku TV; I wrote about a remote pairing issue I'm having here,http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/tv_forum/f/tv-forum/21003/can-t-pair-contour-remote-with-new-tcl-series-6-roku-tv. Semi-related to that, can someone tell me if it's possible to use a third-party remote to control the Contour DVR? In light of the issue I wrote about in the other thread, this is sounding pretty appealing, plus I've really hated the Contour remote so far; I'm not sure if I just have a bad one, but the voice controls are incredibly finicky and usually cause an error, and the regular buttons are unresponsive almost half the time, so even mundane tasks like scrolling through the channel guide or menus is incredibly frustrating. I already have aPhillips P144v2 4-device remote, as well as an older Sony RMVLZ620 universal remote. Would either/both of these work with the Contour DVR? I don't really care about not being able to use voice functionality, as long as the buttons are responsive and I can control both my TV and DVR with a single remote. Thanks!
