How often should you reset or unplug your box? My friend treats his contour box like a computer and reboots it daily or right before watches something. Especially in HD. Necessary or not?
Why do you have to constantly unplug or reboot your contour box? Box is under two years old.1.3KViews0likes2Comments"Sorry, we're having some trouble"
My TV says "Sorry, we're having some trouble" please tighten your cable connections and restart your tv box. all the cables are tight and I have reset box multiple times and I keep getting the same message my internet seems to be working fine7.7KViews0likes2CommentsTemporarily off air message
I'm getting "Temporarily off air messages" on several channels including Syfy, National Geographic and now TCM. These seem to occur about three hours after I turn on the channel. I caught the message coming on when I was recording something and it asked me to press a confirm button then went to the message. I've tried resetting the cable box and that doesn't work. If I change channels and return, the message goes off, but it's a nuisance if I have to get up at three in the morning to do this if I'm recording something I want to watch the next day.2.2KViews0likes1CommentCable Box Resets Intermittently
At least once per day, the cable TV box gives the TV a green screen, shuts down, re-boots and then works for anywhere up to 24 hours or as few as 15 minutes. I'm using a box we've had for at least a decade, with ROVI software. The reset seems random, occurring at different times, different lengths of time between shutdowns, on different channels, and sometimes during recording as well. The cable signal is working as other TVs using the cable signal (but not through the cable TV box) experience no problems. We've ensured there is plenty of cooling air to the box and still no change in behavior.3.4KViews0likes1Comment
