smtp.cox.net not connecting
I am in Las Vegas, NV and today I can't send email with Thunderbird and keep getting the error message that sending message failed because smtp.cox.net is unavailable. I have used this service for years without any problem. The website https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/ could not connect with the server either. I am getting mail all right. Customer service could not help.3.8KViews0likes9CommentsRequirements for SMTP sending when using out-of-cox domain "from" address
About a month ago my Thunderbird email client started receiving error messages when sending email through cox SMTP. I am sending using a "from" address other than our cox adress (at another domain). Sometime back I setup an SPF record in my domain zone file to support this and it has worked well until a month ago. Here's the relevant message regarding the error: CXSNDR There was a problem with the sender's domain. Your email failed authentication checks against your sending domain's SPF, DomainKeys, or DKIM policy. I can't find any detail on these requirements. Can anyone tell me the *exact* requirements for this setup? Thanks1.2KViews0likes1Commentcox.net e-mail failure via smtp.west.cox.net
I have not been able to send e-mail via smtp.west.cox.net today. This was working fine until this morning. I'm using Thunderbird as my e-mail client. The configuration has not changed between yesterday and today. I'm in Tucson (85747). The error message I get is: Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to Outgoing server (SMTP) smtp.west.cox.net was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again. Thanks, Tim2.1KViews0likes3Comments
