Cable Modem Swap

I am swapping Cable modems to a surfboard (Arris) SB6183,  - do I notify cox of the change, and if so how?

    We will need to add the new modem to your account and activate it. Please send an email to cox.help@cox.com with your account details, the modem's model, serial number, and MAC address.

    I use my internet for work and cannot be down for extended time.  How is the cutover coordinated?  and Please provide a phone number if there is a problem.

    As long as the outlet is active, we can activate the modem upon connection. In the event you experience any issues, you can contact 24/7 technical support by phone at 866-867-7644.
