I live in a house. How do you actually check to see if it's an amplifier issue? I have a gray box on the side of my home that I believe is the "communications" or coax lines coming into my house from the pole in my alley for the internet, phone etc. But the gray box has a small lock on it, that I'm assuming is there from cox themselves if they ever need to check it.
So you have TV and Telephone service? Do you happen to know how the coaxial gets from the street to the different outlets in your house? Is it split all in the grey box? If so, you need a technician to unlock the box. When they do unlock it, ask them to leave it unlocked incase you need to change/repair anything. Everything past the demarc(where it grounds) is your wiring.
BTW, Are you having problems with Telephone or TV service too?
