Fascinating! Any idea what an "Indoor Hotspot" really is? I understand the Wi-Fi clusters, which is the only approach I was familiar with. Do folks volunteer/sign up to put them in their homes?

All Panoramic gateways put out a Cox Wifi SSID for hotspot access. You can disable it though. See here.

Cox ALSO has outdoor and businesses setup with WiFi equipment that doesn't depend on the Pano modems. Refer to the link I posted above. It provides actual addresses.

I know there is a Cox Wifi hotspot down the road from me. My phone alerts me every time I drive past however it's not on the map. Must be a gateway. I don't see any outdoor hotspots in my area.
