Email Banner Advertisements

Email account now has these "commercial banners" that begin to play even if not clicked on. This is very annoying and it's advertising things I have no interest in. How do I get rid of these unwanted banners that appear when I open my email screen?

    I can understand advertising on "free" sites. Cox webmail (that I would never use) is a paid service as part of your paid internet. Advertising on a paid service is UNACCEPTABLE. Cox raising rates AND selling your information is UNACCEPTABLE.
