Firmware not updating

Everyday I lose internet connection due to a firmware issue.  My current version is V3.01.40.  According to Netgear, the current firmware version from cox is V6.01.07. I assume this is why i keep getting disconnected all the time.  When i log into the modem/router it always says, UPDATING FIRMWARE.

How do i get Cox to push the latest version to my modem/router.

Currently running Netgear Nightwalk C7800.

  • Just because NETGEAR says it's the latest firmware, doesn't mean it's the latest firmware that has passed Cox's Docsys engineering. I have a CM2000 and the firmware on my Modem is - V1.01.08.

    According to my research -

CM2000 Comcast latest version - V8.01.02  Spectrum latest version V1.01.05

Couldn't find a chart showing Cox, buit it certainly appears that my firmware is definitely a newer version than Spectrum.

Once your modem is online, Cox's system updates the firmware automatically if they have a newer approved firmware.

What you can do is call in to Cox, request escalation to CAG, and see if you can have them send an email to Docsys engineering to verify the latest firmware is on your modem.
