Normally I have two devices connected but only one doing anything. The slowdown is on both wired and WiFi. The modem is a Cisco provided by Cox, the router is mine.

For testing purposes during those hours, are you able to bypass the router and hardwired directly to the modem. If so don't forget to reboot the modem prior to bypassing.

I did it several times. The speed remains the same as before the re-boot.

First, this happens even when the router is out of the way. The problem is that it's not my local problem - it seems to be dependent on the time of day. Speeds are fine during the day, than they slow down from approximately 6PM to 10PM and than go back to normal. It looks like something to do with the Cox servers or the local mode. In the last couple of day the slow down is less severe, so I'm waiting to see if it will go away completely. If it doesn't I will have a tech come out, though it seems useless.
