If you are considering going with the Gig fiber service from cox, you might want to rethink depending on the situation of your area..
- IF a survey tech comes to your location and states that all is well and the fiber can be stretched through your existing conduit, then DEFINATELY do it. the service is fantastic, the speeds are just as advertised, the reliability is excellent!!!
- This was my experience at my previous address
- IF the tech finds that new conduit needs to be laid to run the fiber through, DO NOT Proceed and let my current situation be a warning
-
Back in mid June 2016, I called cox to transfer service from one location to the next
-
BTW this resulted in a prorated cancellation fee of $189.00 (later credited after several phone calls)
-
and if you move DO NOT leave the fiber modem cox gives you at the address even after they instruct you to do so. I have an equipment charge of $91.89 because I followed instructions
-
The Gig support team does not keep on correspondence to let you know where you are in the process..
-
I have had TWO FAKE installation notification sent to me
-
-
-
Cox/gig life team states these were mistakes. and BTW sorry you scheduled off work
-
My yard and most of the neighborhood has been staked out since July 11th and cox still says NO INSTALL FOR ANOTHER 6 - 8 weeks. but they are happy to continue to bill me for service I don't have
My frustration is at its peak and due to lack of communication, incorrect billing and not being able to get service. Its time to cancel services and try again in 6 months. maybe by then someone else in the neighborhood will have gotten service and my wait time wont be 3 - 4 monhts
