I have a few questions about my recently installed Gigablast service.
- Is Gigablast full time Gb service or is it more on demand with speed bursts?
- If it is full time, why do 2 out of 3 of my devices that I would expect should get the close to the full Gb (900-950) not come close? My Xbox 1 only gets 150ish down and my MacPro only gets 500-600ish down, but my MacBook Pro does get 900ish down. I have them all connected to the same port on the router when testing, I would imagine the Xbox 1 should be immediately getting close to top speeds, and the MacPro should be very similar to the MacBook Pro speeds. For some reason these 2 devices are not getting what I expect from my service.
- Why do my speed tests from speedtest.net always think I'm in Arizona, when I'm actually in Oklahoma? I change my preferred server to Oklahoma and it tests out of my state, but it thinks I'm physically in Arizona testing to Oklahoma, according to the little image it shows when running tests.
I'm probably one of the first ones in my neighborhood with Gigablast, My house/backyard is right next to the green service box, and the installer installed fiber directly to my modem, not to just to the house then ethernet, he went directly to the modem with the fiber. From there its going to my router and over Cat5e/Cat6 cable into my office where I'm testing.
I'm just lost at why I can't see the speeds I signed up to see, just on one of my devices.
