IP Security Cameras Disconnecting

I have four IP security cameras. When I upgraded to the latest Cox modem/router, two of the cameras seemed to struggle staying connected. I noticed they were the older cameras so I bought two replacements and set them up. They are all now the same version of camera and within range of the wireless network. But, the two that were working are now the ones struggling to stay connected. The two new new ones are always online. It seems like they have more trouble when everyone is home. Any idea what's going on here?

  • Hi Enforcer09,

I was able to locate your account based on the email address you registered your Forums user ID with. I ran several tests on the WiFi modem and it’s reporting good metrics; however, the modem log indicates it’s struggling to maintain communication with our Cox equipment outside your home. This could be the result of an issue with loose connections or splitters, an issue in the Cox equipment outside your home, or an issue with the modem itself. Please check for any loose or bad cables. Check the coaxial connection between the modem and the wall to ensure all connection points are finger-tight and undamaged. If there is a splitter in your connection, disconnect the splitter from the modem and wall outlet and connect the coax cable from the modem to the wall. If your connection is secure, we can schedule a technician to further investigate. You can send our team an email at cox.help@cox.com with this post, your full name, and your complete address.
