There are free scanner apps for PCs you might try. It should show a list of all the wifi router signals it picks up in your area. If it shows your Cox network, then the problem must be with your laptop. Is it old and outdated or something?

It shows the Cox wifi. The list for wifi isn't that long so it's not a matter of scrolling. It shows quite a few networksm. Like from neighbors.
I just factory reset the laptop and it still doesn't show the home wifi. I don't have a separate router. It's an all on one modem /router from cox.
I do have the 2.4G and 5G separate.

Have you tried hardwiring the device to see if you can access the internet?

I Googled your problem and you're not the only one. Here's a support link from Lenovo:
Seems you need to check that wireless LAN is "ON" in the BIOS, then download the latest wifi drivers. (I should have thought of that, lol.) Sometimes it's just a need for an upgraded driver. Good Luck.
