Just tried your suggestion and I get the following error:
Send test e-mail message: Your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server has reported an internal error. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP). The server responded: 554 fed1rmimpo110.cox.net cox too many bad commands fr - its stops at that point on the message.
But it states "Some errors occurred while processing the tests. Review the list of errors below for more details. If the problem persist after taking the suggested actions, contact your Internet Service Provider.
When I change it for the outgoing "465" port with SSL, and then do the test message, it keeps having me try to log on to the Internet E-mail, which I know my information is correct for my user name and password. Keeps going round and round, I hit "ok" constantly when the pop-up show.
Very frustrated with Cox right now.
