thanks for the reply -- will consider that ~ the cox remote functionality still seems like it remains each day, just the source input is not recognized
Was this ever resolved? I also have a new QLED Samsung and my cox 4k streaming box has to be unplugged and plugged back in for the tv to recognize it. I re-paired the cox remote with no improvement.

not resolved. I tried the re-pairing remote also :(
- Allan5 years agoModerator@Chwdr3, Is this issue happening with the dvr box or with one of the client boxes? Also, have you tried using a different box with this tv to rule out the box being the problem? -Allan, Cox Support Forums Moderator.

how do I know if it is a dvr box or a client box? all 4 boxes we have look the same -- the bottom reads "Xi6-A"
That is a good suggestion though.. I think it likely *isnt* per se an issue with the box, as I found a person on the Samsung TV forum asking the same question -- https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/Qled-and-Frame/Q70-tv-turning-off-cable-box/td-p/858621 -- It is something of how the cable interacts w/ the TV that no one can seem to figure out
For now, we are turning off the tv using the samsung remote rather than the Cox remote as a workaround and that works
