IPv6?
i have the Cisco DPQ3212 modem, which is a docsis 3.0 modem, connecting to a Netgear AC 1750 router, model number R6700v2. I have configured the router to use IPv6, but an IPv6 test site says I am not receiving an IPv6 signal. I have gone through numerous questions on the Cox forums, and they all say that Cox is providing IPv6 service now, so I'm looking for possible problems and solutions. For example, does the modem need to be configured; does it need a firmware update; do I need a newer modem, etc? Looking for help on getting the most out of my Cox internet.3.8KViews0likes6CommentsDPQ-3212 modem w/battery backup never goes online after power failure
In October Cox installed a DPQ-3212 (I assume this is a CIsco modem although the brand name on the modem itself is "Technicolor") phone modem in my home as part of their infrastructure upgrade. I purchased a backup battery for the modem. Last night we had a power failure and a phone which should have worked (non-cordless, does not require power) had no dial tone. Power was off for about 30 minutes. This morning I tested the modem by unplugging it. What I'm seeing is the all of the panel lights lighting in succession, and then everything but the POWER light turns orange and and it repeats this sequence. I let the modem do this 4 or 5 times and then just plugged it in. If there's a power failure, why doesn't the battery just immediately take over (like a UPS on a PC)? Is the behavior I'm seeing by unplugging the modem indicative of a defective modem or defective battery? Under normal use, the BATTERY light is solid green. Thanks for any insight into this. Not having phone service during a power outage is unsettling especially when you've paid for a backup battery. Rob8.1KViews0likes9CommentsTimeline for Docsis 3.1 eMTA approved modem?
Hello, I currently receive phone service through an eMTA modem. I have recently decided to upgrade my modem to a docsis 3.1 modem. However, there are not any docsis 3.1 eMTA modems on the Cox approved modems list. Is there a timeline to the availability of a docsis 3.1 eMTA modem, specifically the ARRIS Touchstone TM3402 eMTA, to the Cox approved modems list?Solved7.9KViews0likes4CommentsUpdate/ replacement for DPQ3212
What's the replacement for the Cisco DPQ3212? It's been a terrible piece of equipment since install and I've been waiting for a replacement to be rolled out. It's also a 8x4 docsis 3.0 and a 32x8 or at least 24x8 should be available by now. The DPQ3212 does have the distinction of being terrible for for both voice emta and Cox slow spotty drop out internet service. Thanks!5KViews0likes1CommentHow would I connect a separate phone to my Cable modem?
We have the premium phone service and our main phone system (if you will) is a typical cordless with several handsets. We have a wall mount phone like the one in the attached photo that we'd like to add. I recall our install technician stating that a second phone/system could not be used but he didn't elaborate. Looking at the back of the modem though, there is a port to connect a second line so I don't understand why I can't add that wall mounted phone. If you believe it's possible, what steps/devices do we need to add it? Here is an illustration of the back of the modem: Here's the wall mount phone we need to add: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/9e/11/aa/9e11aa9e79bb07ca9b964fd09f102a34.jpg10KViews0likes3CommentsCisco DPQ3212, 15 minutes to switch from Power to Battery Back-up
Yesterday, I had my ARRIS Telephone NIU swaped out to a Cisco DPQ3212 eMTA. I was just testing the eMTA's ability to maintain a dial tone, by unplugging it, and there was no dial tone, yes I have a good battery. I rely on my phone for my alarm system. I called Cox support and they said it takes 15 minutes to switch from power to battery before there is a dial tone again. Is this true? Cox knew I had an Alarm System and did the rewire for the line seizure to the Alarm panel. If it truly takes 15 minutes to get a dial tone back, the customer should definitely be informed of that prior to a conversion from NIU to eMTA. I was planning to switch my mother from Centurlylink to Cox HSI and Phone, but if her power goes out, and it does frequently, and she cannot use the phone for 15 minutes, she would loose her mind.11KViews0likes12CommentsInternet Issues
I recently got a modem upgrade to a Cisco DPQ3212, and I've been experiencing a slow internet connection since it got activated for about a month now. I'm not really sure what is the optimal level for the Downstream/Upstream Channels, but it looks off to me. With Splitter: With Splitter off:2.5KViews0likes3CommentsModem for Wireless
Hello, I just signed up for service and received my modem, but i don't think it's wireless. There is an iPad in the house. Could you tell me how to configure this modem for wireless and if it doesn't have wireless capabilities, how can I get one. It's a Cisco DPQ32122.7KViews0likes1Comment
