Hi, I have recently upgraded my internet connection to the 50mbps package and I noticed a significant increase in speed for a few hours on the first day it updated. It now seems to be very inconsistent and I am getting as low as 3 mbps downloads up to around 18. The uploads seem to be just fine as I've gotten around 18mbps. The past few days have been a real disappointment. Please help.9KViews0likes14CommentsDPC3010 Firmware Update?
Hello, I've been working with Cox tech support reps over the phone and online chat without a much resolution. I actually work in IT and setup networking equipment for a living so I'll try and provide you with the best information I can. I'm a new customer myself with a self purchased DPC3010 running some pretty old Firmware and I believe it's causing me to have upload speed issues. Can I update this firmware myself or do I have to wait for a push? I've tested this connection with an OLD SB5101U DOCSIS2.0 modem and the upload speeds were fine. Please let me know if you need any additional info from me and thanks for any and all assistance with this problem. I've been told my signals don't look very good on the Cox side either but my download speeds are great and very consistent. My Upload speeds are the problem usually around .4mbps or 400kbps with best being around 3mbps.7KViews0likes14CommentsCorrect firmware version for Cisco DPQ3212?
I've been having intermittent internet speed problems for the past month. After 3 visits by Cox technicians, I am still having the issue. The technicians have "improved" various things such as connectors, amplifiers, splitters, etc. About a month ago the technician told me that since I have both phone and internet, I could get a free cable modem from Cox. He gave me a CiscoDPQ3212 which worked fairly well for a while. However, we have continued to have slow speeds, with the upstream speeds sometimes approaching *zero* during weekdays. Very recently I noticed that myDPQ3212 was not bonding 4 upstream channels. It would sometimes do only 1, 2 or 3 channels upstream. I spoke with Cox Support today and we agreed that I should try a swap on theDPQ3212. I swapped modems and things do seem to be a bit better; however we are still experiencing some (less severe) slowdowns. The modem has (at least for today) bonded all 4 upstream channels. I think that is a good sign. Enough about my problems. Now to my questions. I noticed that my first DPQ3212 had newer firmware than the one I received today. The previousDPQ3212 had firmware version D3212-P15-5-v302r12901-110223a-COX(built on Feb 23 2011 16:13:10) but theDPQ3212 I received today has firmware versiond3200-P15-5-v302r125573-20131008a-COX (Oct 21 10:08:39 2013). Both modems report a hardware revision of 1.0. The only thing I can see that might be different is that the previousDPQ3212 reports itself as aDPQ3212C instead of justDPQ3212. But the Cmight have just been added by the newer firmware? Is the modem I received today running the correct firmware version? If not, how can I get this upgraded?6.7KViews0likes1Commentsecurity and router firmware updates
In light of the latest ubiquity of security breaches, I have to ask - does Cox routinely send out firmware upgrades when available [i.e. to Cox supplied Cable Modem/Routers such as the Cisco DPQ3925], or is that considered a customer responsibility? Not that we are, necessarily, a prime target, sill, I would feel more secure if our main "firewall" against malicious attacks/hacks to our local network was as robust as possible.6.1KViews0likes3CommentsPort forwarding on DPC 3825 Cisco Gateway
Why does Cox not allow port forwarding on the Cisco DPC 3825 gateway? You can't even update the firmware because that's under Cox control too. As I see it it's simply a way for Cox to make more money by making you purchase the premium tech support for $100 and so much a month thereafter or a one time $60 to set it up for you. For $180 a month I'm not paying more money. I feel like I'm being ripped off! Here's what happens... log into gateway>applications and gaming>port range forwarding>enter external start and end port, internal ip address, start and end port, enable and click save. Pop up stating "The page at 192.168.0.1 says: the setting of port must between 1~65,535: 0" . I certainly didn't try all 65535 port numbers but any number I did try didn't work. What gives? Anyone else have a problem with this?5.7KViews0likes3CommentsCisco DPQ3925 firmware update? - Sept 2016
Is there a firmware update forCiscoDPQ3925 routers past March 2016? I found an article from March 2016 saying that Cisco patched multiple flaws in their routers, includingDPQ3925. I'm curious if Cox has updated firmware from Cisco that it could apply. Here is a link to the article: http://www.securityweek.com/serious-flaws-patched-cisco-modems-gateways My DPQ3925 firmware has these details: - Current Software Revision: d3925-P15-5-c2100r5593-151216a-COX - Firmware Name: d3925-P15-5-c2100r5593-151216a-COX.bin - Firmware Build Time: Dec 16 10:42:59 2015 If there is no firmware update, and I want to re-flash my firmware to do a deeper factory reset, where can I find this .BIN file from Cox? No internet access and no phone dial-tone - goes to voicemail-phone busy when calling in. I get service back by either disconnecting - reconnecting modem power or cable, The TV / STB is not affected. I replaced phone/internet modem with the Cisco DPQ3212 modem sent unsolicited sometime within the last year.
