Upload Speeds drop in the Evening.
Been having some issues as of late. in the evening the upload speeds drop considerably. to the point where my sons can not game online on their ps4. bought a new modem and new router thinking it would solve the issue. then we upgraded to the ultimate package at 300/30. sometime around 7pm every night the upload speeds drop and come back around 10pm or so. all other times speeds seem to be fine. what could it be? have had a tech out and he changed all ends on the cables and signal tests were good at that point. issue still hasn't been resolved. requency start Value This field below allows you to modify the frequency the cable modem start with its scan during initialization and registration. Copyleft @2000-2002 Vasile Laurentiu Stanimir ( stanimir@cr.nivis.com ) Here is a sample of a 20 minute test to a blizzard server while playing overwatch. 95% packet loss to the specific IP. Multiple calls to cox with no resolution. Not even an offer to change my route. I was told that the department in charge of fixing my issue is unreachable by me as a paying customer and as well as the employees of cox not being able to contact this so called department about my problem. Super frustrating that the phone representatives take us paying and knowledgeable customers as idiots and claim that there is nothing they can do to resolve an issue multiple people are having. This is a last chance effort on my part to see if someone is smart enough to help me with this issue as I have been a loyal customer for several years.5.3KViews0likes15CommentsSelf Activation kit fee
What is the self activation kit fee? On the website it says its mailed to you, but i never recieved anything and I installed everything myself with my own modem and all. No technician ever came out. I called cox but the rep I got didn't understand what I was talking about.4.7KViews0likes1CommentCustomer service phone number
The COX website absolutely is not working. No matter what browser I get on, it won't load anything in my account. I just get a blank white screen. I tried to get the customer service info to show up but even that doesn't show up. I tried to get on my husband's computer as well. Anyway, I really just need to pay my bill. I have paperless billing, which doesn't list a number at the bottom of my bill. If someone could just tell me the phone number that'd be cool Thanks!4.2KViews0likes1CommentAccessing Cox Communications in hotels in Europe
I am on a cruise in Europe. The hotel connection in Lisbon would let me google or whatever I needed except Cox Communications. It would just spin. I am now on a cruise ship and having no difficulty connecting and checking webmail. I will be in a London hotel soon where I had the same experience last year. I will also be in Paris. Can anyone explain why I can't reach Cox Communications in a hotel? My browser is Firefox but I have also tried Internet Explorer and have the same results. I am using a Toshiba netbook. Thanks for any help you can provide!2.8KViews0likes3CommentsWHEN WILL WE SEE IPv6?
This is my residential account which I've had for the past 2.5 years and once in a while I'll review the SB 6141 logs which show the same consistent errors at the end of every dynamic, 24 hour refresh &/or power failure as well. I've resided in several of the states Cox provides service to and must say that the little old Virginia Beach, VA 23451, 23456 areas have seen little in terms of performance boost over the same period. Having a unique business which serves the large retirement community of West Neck Village and the adjacent homes bordering the Signature Golf Corse has given me plenty of insight as to common problems that could be easily fixed with some accurate, personable discussion in advance with residents here. Almost every house hold visited maintains a Cox internet package along with phone and TV packages bundled in an effortto keep customers under some false belief that they might actually be saving money. I really differ in this opinion and for starters, let's consider the "upgrade anything package" with key emphasis onvariables that cypher from anything to words like premier and ultimate internet packages throughout. I can't begin to tell you (yes I do have an extensive log book) the number of times I've not onlyhelped introduce a retiree to the web based account access but further investigation revealed that they were using DOCSIS 2.0 modems at best ranging in with oldMotorola SB 51_0and had no idea that the speed they were bottlenecking at 40 to 50Mbps down and maybe 15 up was nowhere near the potential of the advertised Premier, let alone Ultimate band width delivered. The fact is, your customer information pages are far too vague and Cox has but a few markets with Giga Blast or whatever catch jingle advertised. Further, how can a customer be upgraded to the Ultimate Tier and have a tech (on both occasions they claimedtheir presence stating allis well) not only provision the account but knowingly leave the antiquated DOCSIS 2.0 modems running on the customer’s account? In so far as IPv6 is concerned, is there a date when wecan expect to say good bye to the 6 to 4 standard. My business account is running IPv6 so what gives? I've been the go to guy for computer, electronic, gadget, games and emergency services equipment installs since the infancy of this community (my parents also residehere) and more often than not have scratched my head wondering what the h_ll is going on with proper coveragefrom actual Cox Techs that were not only helpful, but available from 04' through 07' Now, it's hit and miss with subcontractors who might be trained to runRG through a floorplate, terminate with compressed fitting, screw the cable into said hole "cable" power on the modem with hopefully 110 current (yes there once was a 220 incident)dial up support, provision MAC and Serial number (this floors me as a ultimate speed internet package holder with SB5120 modems) connect the Cat 5e to the router and ask or tell, "well mam, your internet is all up to snuff and we also checked, with your permission as to connectivity through you home router and Walla, you are good to go. As I write this, I'm in area code 23451 and it wouldn't matter if I had single or dual band capable DOCSIS 3.0 modems, I still have yet to see 150 Mbps down and not much past 20 up. Ihad techs out in which they all concur (hint, I was a cable tech who used hisWavetek CLI-1750 religiously) the infrastructure locally is a hybrid of old, new and salvaged equipment dating back to the late 80s’ So then my question on my account page wants me to upgrade my modem from the SB6141 to a SB6183 dual band modem. Should I invest in hopes that I might actually see the holy grail of 150Mbps? You know how frustrating it is as member of Broadband Reports who probably visits the site 2 or 3 times a year and read the Q & A section for Cox HSI customers only to realize their screen clipping of modem stats indicates 200+Mbps on an average in AZ and other markets compared to your customers in Virginia who will never see service levels comparable to actual Cox Employees who, I’m sure take pride in their work. Honestly, it ** and please excuse the slang but no other term fits your service so well. Oh, how could I depart without asking were one of the so many available Wi-Fi hotspots are down here at the ocean front? Of all the areas that could benefit customers who are existing Cox account holders and vacation in Virginia Beach, only to find that there service provider doesn’t have WIFI locally, Not Hot or Spot Regards, Brian R.2.6KViews0likes1CommentGame rtt and packet loss
I've been having problems across all Blizzard games. I get major rubberbanding and packet loss. My ps4 version of Overwatch runs just fine. It has something to do with a hop somewhere in Dallas. I've tried contacting Blizzard about it and they tried to fixed it, but they said I'll have to contact Cox. Please help me fix this, as Cox has been nothing but terrible the entire time I've been with them. I was told byEdilbert G. A customer support via chat that COX "Ultimate internet Plan" was only 150 Mbps download and 15 Mbps Upload. Is this correct? Your website advertise 300 Mbps and 30 Mbps isn't that just lying? or is your customer tech support not inform? I've been paying for top internet for 2 months and already changed out the modem 2x and my internet that was suppose to be 300 Mbps download and 30 Mbps upload have not once reach past 50 Mbps and yet I am charged over $100.00 a month for mediocre connection. I'm trying to get a technician out to take a look at my connection and I can't seem to get an exact quote, one says $75, one says $50 and another says $25.2.3KViews0likes4Comments
