Separate Phone and Internet Modems
I am planning to upgrade to Gigablast internet, which means I'd need to upgrade from my DPQ3212 modem to one with DOCSIS 3.1. However, I have a phone line and it is my understanding that if I am to buy my own modem, I'd still have to use the one provided by Cox for phone service, meaning I'd need 2 separate modems, one for internet and one for telephone service. If this is correct, and I follow through with getting Gigablast and a DOCSIS 3.1 modem, what exactly would I need to do to set it up when it arrives? Would someone need to come to our house to set it up (are they even doing house visit right now?), would I need a coax cable splitter or could I use a different coax outlet in the house? I've looked into this quite a bit as gaming on my current plan has been quite frustrating, but I'm a bit confused about the details so any help is appreciated!

We have a dial tone, but the other line can’t hear me at certain times a day
For the past week, the only time my phone fully works is from 2p-8p. The rest of the day, I HAVE a dial tone but no one can hear me. I can hear the other person perfectly, but they can’t hear anything I say. Just silence. During that time, my message system voice is all garbled and I can’t hear my voicemails. I have a Panasonic KX-TGF380, I’ve tried calls using the base phone, as well as the other 2 cordless phones but nothing. Cox has sent out 3 servicemen but they have zero clue. They have completely switched and given us new lines and new modems and everything. Any ideas or help? Happening to anyone else?

Cannot be heard by callers
Inbound callers cannot hear us talking after we answer! While talking to other caller suddenly cannot hear us any longer. Outbound calls are completed but we cannot be heard. The problem is intermittent.

Phone service equipment
I currently have Cox internet service with my own Modems and routers. The Cox store said that I must change to a Cisco DPQ3925 wifi, internet telephone modem. I do not want to do this. I want to keep what I have. Does Cox have a telephone modem only that connects to the cable via a splitter and then ties into my house telephone wiring. Does the telephone modems support Heart Pacemaker modems that work on the analog telephone line. If not something that connects to the cable how about a VOIP unit for telephone service that works off of the current router.

Update/ replacement for DPQ3212
What's the replacement for the Cisco DPQ3212? It's been a terrible piece of equipment since install and I've been waiting for a replacement to be rolled out. It's also a 8x4 docsis 3.0 and a 32x8 or at least 24x8 should be available by now. The DPQ3212 does have the distinction of being terrible for for both voice emta and Cox slow spotty drop out internet service. Thanks!
