Why is Cox Communications STILL NOT Connected with the History Channel?
I tried this when the History Channel first came out with their app for the XBOX 360 a long time ago and today I figured that I would give it another try because SURELY Cox has by now linked up with their authentication service. To my true disappointment I noticed this STILL has not been completed and I feel the need to voice my discontent in finding this out. If anyone from Cox actually reads and/or replies to this thread.... (a practice critical to actually running a customer focused company inline with their presumed marketing flubber)... then please briefly explain to us all the following: Why is your customer authentication system not linked up with with theirs yet? If your response to the above question attempts to place the blame on the side of the History Channel then please explain to me how they manage to be connected with every single Cable TV provider in the entire Nation (~50+ providers)? This is evidenced by simply visiting their default Activation/Authentication page located athttp://www.history.com/activate (note: you must select the Roku or XBOX button prior to being able to see that use list of Cable providers) Please further provide us some insights into how many of your other current Channel Content Partners provide online viewing for which you currently have not properly implemented the same Activation/Authentication procedures? Please provide a general timeline in regards to when Cox Customers can expect such implementations to be completed? Although I am sure that the vast majority of remaining Cox subscribers do not use such services, your company needs to recognize that by failing to simply ensure such capabilities are treated as priorities you give people like me (and I am sure many others) just one more reason to look for alternatives out there. Hi, will there be an app developed for Windows Phone 10devices in the near future? I'm assume so, since Microsoft have an universal app development framework now... Cox can develop one code base that can work across all windows 10devices. If Cox management, chief software engineer, and lead software architects haven't made a decision to go on this; maybe the business need to hire replacements.. Just got Cox subscription, and have an HD receiver that constantly has the fan running whether the box is in standby mode or on. Is there ever a time the fan shuts off? It's annoying from a noise perspective, as well as being a potential energy eater as well even when not using the TV or HD receiver itself. I just had Contour installed with 3 units this week. I like every part of it. Thanks. I do have 2 issues: 1) even though the ads clearly show usage of tablets in their ads, in reality, I now find outthat both the Solution Centers and the Tech Support do not handle tablet issues for android tablets (i.e., Samsung 10.1). Even though I pay a premium for tech support a call to them was immediately turned back to a Solutions Center. So far, the tech there does not have an answer either. I am not an Apple donor and feel that an exclusive use of iPads is not conveyed well in your ads or your sales support staff. Will I be able to add a Contour menu and control to my tablet? 2) Showtime anytime. I see quite a bit of conversation about Cox supporting this service. I too, feel that I should be able to use it as a part of paying a monthly premium to COX for showtime. Is anyone else having this issue with some of the movie channels? EPIX and FLIX seem to be havingthe most trouble, but also happens to several of the other channels from 360-385. Select one of these channels and we see an "error message" after a black screen for 5-10 seconds: "Temporarily Off Air - EPIX (or whichever channel)- please check back later." Sometimes the channel displays correctly for 5-10 seconds and then shhows the error message. After a period of time, maybe two hours, channel automatically changes to Cox Channel 7 (we're in Arizona) when on a channel only available using Advanced service (formerly Digital service). This is annoying because we are using a premium service requiring the monthly rental of the cable box. I have called technical support, most techs answering the call don't know this happens and think that we did something. I know this is real, not imagined. Several techs do know this is how the service is programmed. It used to change to a "DOS-like message screen" saying to press any button on the remote. I just upgraded to Cox Advanced TV Plus Package and Trio am wondering about a few features. Unfortunately, all the routes I went through with Cox have hit dead ends due to their poorly trained agents who keep either referring me to other support or simply don't know the answers. So here we go. Features that my old DVR had, but I can't find in my new one. How it worked in the old DVR will be in parenthesis: Play All option for multiple recordings of a series (selecting the show and hitting info). Alphabetizing the recorded programs list when the titles are grouped (this happened automatically if you grouped the recording list by title). Being able to tell if I watched a particular episode of a series already (the listing appeared dim in the recorded shows list). Being able to quickly tell if a program won't be recording due to a conflict (you could go into scheduled recordings and the program that wouldn't be recording had a "no" symbol next to it and it was dimmed out).
