Paying for premier services getting dial up speed
I there a reason I have been getting below 10 download and over 40 upload speed? This mainly happens at night. But if I am paying over a 260.00 cable bill I should get what I pay for. I have been with Cox for over 13 years..... The service guys have been out to my house 5 or 6 times already and still this issue is not fixed...4.7KViews0likes10CommentsWhy does COX keep charging me for a router I provided?
So apparently when starting service with cox at a new home, and providing them with your own router and modem gives COX the permission to CHARGE you 65$ for your equipment, has anyone else ran into this issue with their service department? I've called 2x, and discussed this issue with them - Now my 3rd bill is here and even after threatening to go to century link...they still charge me for my own equipment!!! Why? Why would they do this? I'm planning to go to century link if the problem isn't resolved but how many times do you have to go through this with this company before they resolve it? Or do they want to lose to century link? Can anyone answer this for me?4.5KViews0likes3CommentsNot getting speed I signed up for?
I ordered the premier internet plan 2 days ago and it was fully activated today. My issue is that I'm not getting the download speed even close to 50 Mbps, the highest I got was 2500 Kbps and was for a couple seconds. Right now I'm normally getting between 150 Kbps and 1 Mbps, that's the speed I was getting with Uverse which is a lot cheaper. I have a way higher upload speed than download speed . I moved a few months ago and had my internet moved to the new address, but a Cox technician has to come and set up the internet because it seemed something wasn't wired right. I've noticed, however, that my speeds drop to about 1-3 Mbps. Videos take forever, and loading websites is just terrible. There doesn't seem to be a particular time it happens, but it gets to be very frustrating. This occurs on both wired and wireless connections, whether or not I'm connected through the router or modem. I don't recall my internet ever suffering while at the previous place. Is this bad wiring, or is my internet being throttled? Thanks for any help.3KViews0likes7CommentsWIFI connection/disconnect issues
So we got cox and i was recommended to it by a friend and so i trusted there word. well i will try to stay on topic and not list the other problems. it started a week after internet got hooked up my wife just bought a brand new laptop and she wanted to use the wifi she connected and it all worked well for about a week or two. she is not one to complain. and she didn't tell me about the issues till about 2 months ago or so. wifi keeps dropping and i have to reconnect it manually every time through the internet settings. and it started getting real old real fast so i called a couple of times about the internet was told that it might be some interference so i was told to try it in another location so i moved it to a few spots in the house where the jack was available and active still getting dropped. i was told everything seemed fine on there end but it isn't fine. cause i still cannot use my new laptop new cell phone and new ps4 cause every time i connect via wifi i get dropped after about 5-15 min. and i understand the traffic issues but this is unacceptable i pay you to provide a service now start providing. if it seems like im upset i am cause the internet is not the only issue but again any help would be appreciated. your modem we are renting: CISCO model: DPQ39252.7KViews0likes2CommentsKeep getting connected to a terrible at capacity node. Please show that Cox is doing something before I file a FCC report.
For the past couple months, my internet in the downtown New Orleans area has been terrible. A full day outage every couple weeks and days of low speed/insane ping jitters. I'm working from home and have to remote in for work, and the internet has been so unreliable that I have to sometimes use my mobile data hotspot for work. Playing online videogames is impossible with insane ping jitters. I've called customer service but nothing got resolved. No, you cannot use the previous hurricane as an excuse. My internet was fine for couple months after the hurricane. You probably did some node rerouting and my area kept getting the bottom end of the stick. I'm posting my complain here so we have something in writing for the public to see and I'm hoping to get a resolution before I make a FCC report. What's the node capacity in my area? Does Cox have a plan to do a node split? Or I'm wrong and it's a different issue? Am I getting credit/discount for a subpar service? I've been recording ping data with PingPlotter, here's one for example: https://imgur.com/a/1SpLR5H Thanks for reading and I'm looking forward to hearing your response.2.2KViews0likes5CommentsRefund my $200.40 ASAP
I called Cox to report that my internet is not working after trying so many times to do it by myself. Cox rep was pushing to dispatch a Cox Pro to fix the issue. He mentioned that if its Cox failure, Cox will take care of the charge which was $75. Cox Tech showed up next day, and after several attempt. He realized that its a Cox problem and he needs to do some wiring check (Per his saying). He did some wiring adjustment outside my home, later he pushed again to have their rental modem. The excuse was that Cox modem has dual band 2.4 and 5Ghz, and mine is only 2.4Ghz. And he mentioned that it will be free of charge for the next 10 days if I'm willing to return it. I had a feeling that there is something going on so I returned it next day, and Cox is charged me $0.40 for one day rental !!!!!!! And by the way, my modem works just perfectly up to this moment I'm writing this paragraph. Now, here is the big dilemma, first of all, per your technician, there was a loose connection outside my home so since it's outside my home, logically I'm not liable to it which means it's something that Cox should take care of it. Otherwise you should charge me for a connection issue that happens in Mars !!!! And second, I was told that the charge of the tech is $75, for God sake, how come the $75 become $200 !!!!!!!!! Be careful of Cox tech support, all I was told is fake, tech rep was lying about the $75 charge, and Cox tech blamed me for the fault, though he spent most of the time outside our building doing something I have no clue about. And worse than that, I was told that the their modem is free for the first ten days...... Please train your crew very well and let them sue they don't push or say none sense things, and keep in mind that there are tons of internet providers looking for customers. DO NOT PLAY THESE GAMES OR IT WILL BE MY PLEASURE TO SUE COX, REFUND MY $200.40 ASAP.1.2KViews0likes1Comment
