Cisco Explorer B642HDC hung on CNF9 for (ummmm....) weeks
It will go through the reboot process on its own once or twice a day but it always hangs here. About a year ago, when I was having problems with this line (pretty sure they gave me a new box and did an unbelievable jury-rig with splitter-amps-filters to get me a signal at this one location/box) the tech who came out finally said to the person from Cox support that he was talking to on the phone that there was actually no channel lineup mapped (in the system) to my box. So while the machine was trying to download the channel guide, it wasn't finding anything to download. Could that have happened again? I have followed the directions in responses to other emails re: straight connection on power and cable (no good, no change) so I'm hoping for something else. Even a reset of the box from the local service center might help..... Further context, just in case this helps -- for the second year in a row, I am not getting ESPN game plan on any of my TVs. So clearly something is squirrelly with my signal or electricity or both somewhere. In the line. Anyway, any thoughts or help appreciated.19KViews0likes4Comments
COX San Diego Channel 808 METV changing to CW San Diego
Why on Earth are we changing Channel 808 METV to CW San Diego? We already have a CW Channel 6, But what's more WE LOVE METV, WAY more than The CW. I know I am going to get some Smoke Screen answer. Yet it's Probably ALL About COX wanting too much money. Cox is really pushing customers to leave, SUPER hard, do they even know it? Do they care? No need to answer those. I would like to request this channel for the New Orleans, LA area. I have been waiting more than a year and a half for Cox to bring this channel to their lineup and they don't do it. I don't understand why. They have it in their lineup in many many other cities and all other TV service companies in the area have it in their lineup, too (Dish Network, DirecTV). Here in Ft Smith AR prior to January 14 2020 Channel 18 carried Estrella TV and the Contour program guide listed Estrella TV programming. Then suddenly the next day the program guide started listing programs for the Court TV channel but Estrella TV programs are still broadcast, and this discrepancy has persisted as of the date of this post. Setting my DVR to record Estrella TV programming is no longer possible. I checked with a number of Cox customers around the area and they see the same discrepancy on their Contour cable boxes. I called Cox tv support and they wanted to replace my cable box! Last week I went to the Cox Solutions store on Rogers Avenue and the tv displays in their show room have the same discrepancy! Nobody in the room could explain it. One employee said he would file a work order and let me know what he found out but I have heard nothing back. It seems that all the local network HD channels have gone missing today. Bummer because it did not record my shows tonight. Anyone else have this issue? Is an HD receiver rental required for Cox TV Economy?
When trying to change my TV service to Cox TV Economy, I was told that this would require an HD receiver to access non-HD cable channels (16-68). They included the following link for the channels available in Las Vegas: htp://ww2.cox.com/residential/lasvegas/tv/tv-economy/channel-listings.cox?campcode=rl_tv_tv_economy_pm_021312_lnk_las_6 This appears to show that an HD receiver is needed for theEconomy HD channels, but not for the non-HD channels. ION tv
Looking into resubscribing to cox for cable. One thing I've noticed is that some of the channels we watch fairly often will be going away. I'm talking about the ION tv digital channels. We get 4 of them ota, but it looks like cox only carries 1. We get 4 OETA channels ota, and cox offers all of them from what I noticed. I subscribe to the TV Starter channel list. I receive Channels 2 thru 13. I do not receive 18 (C-SPAN) or 22 (Kansas 22). I rescanned for channels on my Toshiba flat screen TV & checked all options - available for my TV's setup screen. Does anyone have a similar issue? Please advise and comment.
