Internet spotty
My internet sporadically goes in and out. They came and “fixed” it and it was working well for about a month. Now here it goes again. From what I can tell from the feed, this is cox’s internet style,Spotty at best , slow and out most of the time. I’m wanting to cancel and just be done with them. 😡 is there anything that anyone has found to help with the spotty/in and out internet?628Views1like1CommentArris SB6190 Cable Modem - RCS Partial Service and SYNC Time Sync Failure (100% Packet Loss)
I've gone through 3 cable modems, 3 wireless routers, and a handful of ethernet cables thinking it was a problem with my hardware. I've blocked every other device on the network for troubleshooting this. It's just my PC on it, hardwired in. The internet works without issues for about 90-120seconds at a time, then there's a 30 second period where I get 100% packet loss on everything. I can't get on any websites, I get disconnected from any games I'm running, etc. Then after 30 seconds, everything reconnects okay. I've rebooted all of my devices three times. I've called Cox and they said everything is testing fine. There's no Cox maintenance in the area and no outages. No construction in the vicinity. Is there anything I could do to diagnose this? Can I buy anything to test the coax drop in the wall or something? https://www.docdroid.net/tJH6C5a/event-log.pdf.htmlscreenshots of the Event Log from the modem page https://www.docdroid.net/RFmVJY2/status.pdf.htmlscreenshots of the Status page but I don't know what any of this means12KViews0likes11CommentsSpam protector does not work
I received a phishing scam in my email today. Tried to forward it to the company being implicated. When I tried to forward it, the Cox web email recognizes it as spam and won't let me forward. Which begs the question, why did the *** did it reach me in the first place?1.9KViews0likes1CommentInternet Down - Modem Will Not Connect
I have a Motorola Surfboard (SBG6580) that is approximately one year old. Up until the last six months, it has worked perfectly. It has recently started dropping connections, causing problems with not only my personal life but my schooling as well. I've been unable to do anything online for three days and support hasn't been helpful. As I'm typing this, using my phone's tethered connection, my modem is attempting to connect. Normally, it's as simple as a quick call to Cox and a reset of the modem and I'm on my way. After the first two times, this has not been the case. I've hard reset it, performed a "30-30-30" reset, and also restored the router to factory settings via the user interface. All to no avail. I have noticed a few odd things in the logs though: Cox has grown increasingly frustrating over the last year or so and customer support's only advice is "get a new router". I refuse to believe that an immobile device with no moving parts just "dies". Especially with the problems I've had in the past with Cox. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.2.3KViews0likes0Comments
