Mini Box activation
How do I activate my mini box? I followed the instructions and the error message says its taking longer than expected....It references cox.com/minibox, but when I go to that web address there is no "activate" option....I called the help desk and Shonda was super friendly and patient, but she could not help. Mini box problems
So I connected my cox cable new "mini-box" but as soon as I connected. I program the new remote, but for some reason I lost a my basic cable channels. I think i'm going to disconnected and connect back again from the wall. I will at least get my basic cable channels again. Cisco DTA 250HD (Cox Mini Box) remote codes
I have been a cox cable customer for many years now, I have been a cable subscriber and use my media center PC as a DVR. Now with the switch to all digital I have to use the recently issued Cisco brand Cox Mini Box (from what I understand this is a Cisco DTA 250HD). I have now switched to my XboxOne as my media center (since MS dropped support of Windows Media Center with Windows 10, however they will start allowing TV DRV with xboxone in the near future) so I thought all would be great again. However NO ONE seems to know what the remote codes are for this mini box??? I know others are having the same issue with Tivo and Harmony remotes. When can weexpect to see these codes released? This is unacceptable to release a device that you can ONLY control with the provided remote. I will soon be dropping my cable subscription and cutting the cord if this is not resolved soon. What channels do I get with a Cox mini box?
I have Contour TV with 250+ channels in our living room. I want to hook up cable in my bedroom and in the kids room. I have read online with the mini box you only get a few channels. Am I not able to get all the same channels in the rooms with the mini box? If not, what is the best way to get all channels in those rooms with out paying 20 dollars more a month? No guide data on mini
For the past couple of days the mini-box guide data is missing, just shows "program unavailable" for every channel in guide; programs themselves are ok, just the guide. Tried resetting (i.e. unplugged and plugged back in power cord) and also channel scan. Is anyone else having this problem? (Other tv sets with STB are ok, just the mini)18KViews0likes18Comments
MINI BOX Channel Question
I had called and asked about the necessity and/or consequences of adding a mini box to my service. Not one of the techs i spoke to had any idea. I called 3 times and spoke to 5 or 6 people with the transfers to different depts or levels. Nonetheless, i ordered one under the free for 12month promo nagging emails i kept getting I only have 2 sets in my apartment and only me here. I only watch tv a few hours a week prefer internet based things or videos i have. I only watch one set at a time. I have HD service with the big digital hd box in my living room ($8.50/mo unit) and I was told i needed it in order to watch Turner Classic movies. that is the only channel i need cable for . I watch PBS as the only other tv i ever watch. I can get ota PBS with equal or better quality I have a bedroom tv i put the mini box on just today Christmas, since i got it yesterday late afternoon. but, it will not get more than basic stations , no turner and no hd 1000 , 11162 for turner hd. I provisioned or activated the mini box per directions and it seemed to be doing whatever it was supposed to. I waited till the colored bars went across the screen, came back in 10mins after being told to by the screen notices. all was supposed to be fine. only , despite what i had been told, though it was only a definite maybe, by some of the techs i had spoken to no turner, no guide info past 3digits and no 800 numbers where the alternate pbs signal and alternate or 2nd digital network signal output seems to be located. i dont know if i need to wait, more. it already went through the update process and did it a second time too, i think. did something after a successful update run then came back with a nice welcome on a screen before going back to some default channel. should i expect to get turner or any of the digital cable box channels i pay for in my small package? i pay way too much for just watching one HD station being turner plus the extra $9- for the special digital hd box i got told i need in order to get turner at all. hd or not. i had to pay this before turner had any HD channel assignment. it was 162 for years. but i had to rent this big box i was told. though i have yet to get any definitive answer from the sales, or tech over 5yrs. so , i like turner, i pay. but, i thought the mini box would help to iron out discrepancies , finally. am i misunderstanding the company again?15KViews0likes6Comments

For those planning to use these "lower cost" devices, be aware that if you pay for Movie Pak, Sports & Information Pak, Variety Pak or the Bonus Pak, you will not receive the channels associated with these added cost packages. No matter how complete your TV package is, all the Mini-Box will allow are channels in Starter and Essential services. I don't want to rent 3 Mini boxes from COX for the foreseeable future. That's $9 per month forever. So $108 for the first year alone. This is the exact reason that I moved away from Direct TV!! Will any digital converter box work on my TV's which are currently connected directly to the Coax Cable? I've asked the COX people several times and the all say the same thing "I am not sure" which to me sounds like "Yes, but I can't tell you that because we'll lose out on your $110/year".
