Terrible packet loss while playing and streaming all video games using Gigablast
So, every since I got COX service I have had unbearable levels of packet loss. As stated above I am currently using the gigablast service which has 1000mbps down and 35mbps up speeds. The packet loss only gets worse throughout the day and I haven't had a day where my packet loss has been stable at even 1% packet loss. I have called customer support multiple times and they only send their useless technicians that claim that there are no problems in the system. Out of the 100 that have come out some have revealed that there is an issue and that the field team needs to come fix the tap outside the house. You would think this is where everything gets fixed. But no, since this is an intermittent issue they see there is no issue on their side and simply close my ticket without telling me. The logic on the side of these so called technicians is preposterous. I simply have no idea what to do with COX at this point as it has been over a month now since I first reported this issue. I really hope someone here can help me resolve this **. THINGS I HAVE DONE: Replaced modem and router changed all my lan cables factory reset my hard wired pc used cox's panoramic router modem combo PLEASE HELP ME HERE IM GETTING 3%-25% loss in the mornings until around 5 and can go up to 75% in the afternoons.8.4KViews0likes12Commentspacket loss over 2 months time
I have been expericing random packet loss over the past 2 months, have had a cox tech come out twice and blame my modem, i have sinced changed modem and routers 3 times, its very frustaing not being able to stay conncted to the internet for more than 5 mintues, using ping plotter over the past month i am @ 8% packet loss which should be un acceptable for high tier internet, im going to post my modem event log and channels to see if theres anything i can do on my end. any information would be helpful downstream https://gyazo.com/a1da6db818dc6bbdedaaee985ef9ee02 Upstream https://gyazo.com/412e4354108ba57c43350f6a5f39e7e5 down stream ofm https://gyazo.com/40f76f20d8f4be23c8c6e99db44423ed event log https://gyazo.com/b4ac13c455bf88751f2ce302587e72a85.2KViews0likes3CommentsSan Diego - gigabit packet loss and streaming issues
Starting about two weeks ago I started getting pretty consistent and severe packet loss on my gigabit connection Reviewing the SB8200 modem page at 192.168.100.1 (using gigabit package) I see all the DOCSIS 3.0 channels are fine (0-5 DB power and no or low corrected packet count) but the DOCSIS 3.1 channel is around 10 DB in power and gets roughly 1.2 million corrected packets per week since the "event". I track my connection to LA, Dallas, Chicago and New York using SmokePing on my router which tracks jitter and loss via pings with fping. A healthy connection should show me nothing but green (0 loss) on my checks across the board. My current unhealthy connection has blue and dark blue (multiple packets lost) all over the place. I am unable to stream to twitch reliably it fluctuates anywhere from 0 kbit to 3500 kbit and my settings are to stream at 6000 kbit which has been working fine but now I can't stream at all at any settings. I have downgraded my package tonight to 300mbit and put back in my SB6183 thinking my internet would work again since the DOCSIS 3.0 channels appear to be healthy and I am still experiencing packet loss and the same crappy twitch streaming. I would like to get back on the gigabit package and resolve this issue. Two techs were at my house and replaced everything they could replace and they mentioned maintenance may need to come out to run RG11 to replace my RG6. I want to see if the Cox tech people can possibly check into this and see if there's anything that can be done. My gigabit was running flawlessly for a few weeks on my RG6.1.8KViews0likes3CommentsTerrible Download and Upload with Gigablast
Have been getting terrible Download and upload speeds. I pay for Gigablast and am getting nothing close to what I have been paying for. This is a direct connection have tried everything I usually get told to do multiple times. https://imgur.com/a/qIGegeN1.5KViews0likes6CommentsNon stop packet loss/dropouts in Oceanside/Carlsbad area
All, I've had issues with packet loss and dropouts ever since I moved to the area. I never had these issues before at my previous apartment. I will get constant packet loss in games like Rocket League and Apex Legends which heavily are dependent on latency. This is on PS4 and PC. This usually makes the game unplayable. I recently upgraded my gear in trying to narrow down the cause. Everything is hardwired. I went from a Netgear AC1700 and SB6183 to an AC2600 and SB8200 w/gigablast. I was hoping the AC2600 with a better QoS would help... it did marginally but I still get the issues extremely frequently (every time I play). Also many times my upload will barely even hit 10mbps (35mbps advertised). Download can also vary quite a bit as well. Does anybody have any idea of what I can do on my end? I've tried to get Cox to send out a tech but haven't had good luck with that. I will keep trying so they can do a line health test. Here is a log from my modem. As you can see I have a ton ofuncorrectable packets.... I have had issues for atleast half a year now with cox, maybe more. I am having severe packet loss upload issues and its gotten worse as time has gone on. A tech came out today and agreed finally it was on coxes end. And the sad part is as soon as he left it got worse. I was getting 2-13% consistently. now its 10-20% with occasional unusable 90% packet loss, all uploaded. Any time I spoke with cox about this all i got was a reset and more product shoved down my throat, you need the unlimited package, you need the wall to wall wifi, etc. I know the issue is a node with cox. And I don't know if they will ever do anything about it. If you are in the Louisiana area. I would use someone else if you can. Good luck.100Views1like1Comment
