Panoramic Modem Admin Username and Password
I recently upgraded to the Panoramic modem/wifi device (model CGM4141). Unfortunately the Cox wifi extender (model WCB6200Q) that used to work with the prior Cox modem/wifi device (model TG2472G) doesn't work with the Panoramic modem (per Cox). So I bought a NetGear EX8000 wifi extender to provide service to a couple of dead spots in my house. To properly set the switches and the interface between the devices does anyone know the admin username and password for the Panoramic modem? P.S. I'm not asking for the SSID and password that's on the modem. I am specifically asking for the administrator's username and password.Solved36KViews0likes2CommentsPanoramic WiFi - extender issues
Hello, I currently have Panoramic WiFi with one extender, and I am having the following issues: 1. Extender paired SSIDs: After pairing the extender with the main router via WPS, only one new SSID or network is showing up. Shouldn't there be two? One for 2.4ghz and one for 5.0ghz networks? Main Router SSIDs (default names): 1) 2.4ghz =A6C5FF; 2) 5.0ghz =A6C600 Extender SSIDs (WPS paired name): A6C5FF-5G 2. Cox My WiFi: editing 'Device Name' for any particular device in the 'Device List' does not work. I will go in and edit all of my Device Names, but after a day or so it does the following: 1) some devices revert back to default names, 2) some devices switch edited names (for example, my edited 'Sprinkler' device name is now 'AV-Receiver') 3. Main Router web interface for configuration is extremely SLOW. When I use the internal IP address and default user/password to login to the router interface via the web, anytime I click on a button it then says something like "Your unit is updating..." and then it takes a while to load the new page. I can live with that, but some features such as the 'Client List' button for both 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz networks does not work. When I click on 'Client List' for either network, it hangs on "Your unit is updating..." Any help or insight into the issues above is much appreciated. I have done reboots and complete resets of both devices, but no solution. Also, I have spoken with a Panoramic technician over the phone, and he seemed to understand all of the issues above, which felt promising; however, I have had two service technicians (Cox sub-contractors) visit my home, and they are uneducated on Panoramic, the associated equipment, and my particular issues. There is an issue with the Cox Panoramic Router/Modem and YouTube. I can't tell if there's a firewall setting or something I'm missing. YouTube videos buffer while using the Cox Arris TG1682G Panoramic Gateway. I thought at first that Cox may be throttling YouTube so I got the FCC involved. I still suspect it, but haven't been able to prove it. However, when I put the Panoramic Modem/Router in Bridged Mode, and connect my own router to it, YouTube doesn't buffer and videos load instantly. Keep in mind that while using the Modem/Router combo in it's normal Routed/w NAT mode; that speeds were great overall. So it isn't a speed issue. It's YouTube in particular and videos taking 5-10 seconds to buffer before playing, only on Cox's network. This was tested on several different computers, and mobile phones with the same results. I've changed DNS servers to use non Cox DNS, played in the router settings, turned off TG1682G firewall, etc. I can't think of anything else that could be causing this except Cox doing some sort of traffic shaping/prioritization, or throttling with YouTube coming from their device, or a TG1682G device setting. Results were intermittent at times, meaning a few times videos would load instantly. That lead me to believe that it wasn't necessarily throttling, but traffic shaping/prioritization instead. Cox has denied those claims as well. The only constant in all of this is the Cox Arris Panoramic Gateway.7.3KViews0likes6CommentsMultiple hidden networks coming from Panoramic Wifi
Hey all, I've noticed that there are multiple hidden networks coming from my Panoramic Wifi, I've never seen this from other routers. 2 in the 5ghz channel, 2 inthe 2.4ghz channel. They are each on the corresponding channel to the unhidden normal network. (2.4ghz for example, main network on channel 11, two hidden networks also on channel 11) They have the same signal strength as the main networks. There is one 802.1X classified hidden network in both 2.4ghz and 5ghz. I am viewing this data by using the "Wifi Explorer" app from the macOS app store. What are these networks for, and can I turn them off? Thankyou!6.8KViews0likes2CommentsUnusably Slow Ethernet Speed from Panoramic Gateway with Gigablast
Hello, I just finished installing Gigblast wifi today, and my wireless internet works fine. However, when trying to connect the included ethernet cable to my laptop, my laptop says it connects successfully with internet access, but it is so slow that I can not load any pages. I have tried many possible fixes, such as flushing my DNS cache, re-installing my ethernet driver on my computer, restarting the gateway, and disabling my firewall, but nothing has worked so far. Windows network status says that I am connected to the internet. For a full list of things I've tried (probably not exhaustive either)... Restarting computer Restarting/rebooting gateway Setting TCP/IPv4 properties to automatically obtain IP/DNS server ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew netsh winsock reset Disable Windows firewall Disable firewall in Cox gateway settings LAN Ethernet link status is active in Cox gateway settings Try different ethernet cables Try both ethernet ports Disabling/re-enabling ethernet network adapter Check/uncheck TCP/IPv6 in ethernet properties Disconnect from wireless network Ran TCP Optimizer Checked hosts file (nothing in there) Get-NetAdapter in PowerShell shows link speed of 1 Gbps Disable/enable "Automatically detect settings" in Windows proxy settings Windows network reset Clear cache in web browser Tried multiple browsers with all extensions disabled Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.5.1KViews0likes5CommentsWork around for Guest Wifi - Cox router no longer has it
We just switched to the panoramic with the combined router and modem. We discovered later that the Cox removed the Guest Wifi option from their routers (super frustrating!!). Guest networking is basic functionality of a wireless router so I am very disappointed that Cox has gotten rid of this feature. As a work around, I tried setting up a new user as GuestWifi just for accessing the Cox Hot Spots but it won't work because even after removing all access, anyone using the login can still see our bill, pay our bill (ok maybe thats not so bad LOL), see our account number, etc....I'm sharing this part for others so they don't waste time with it. Next, we thought about connecting our old router to the new pano combined router/modem (basically using one modem with two routers). In concept, if I plug one end of the ethernet cable into the LAN port of the primary router, then plug the other end of the cable into the LAN port on the back of the second router, I'm thinking it'll work. But how do I set them up to show as different wifi logins? When I go into the router setup, how do I get into two different routers? Has anyone done this part of it?4KViews0likes11CommentsNo valid router list on the Cox.con web
Cox are decide increase the cost of my awesome slow and expensive connection. I’m from Europe and I normally pay $30 for a 600/600 line with taxes, without any download limit. i understand we are in a diferent country and I need to pay more of the doble for a horrible 150/10 line with a really low download limit. But the limit for me it’s when Cox increase the cost of my line when I have a permanence agreement with them. And I only can quit the limited router they provide me. I read very carefully the router list in his web and I find a Arris TG1682 in a good price. I won’t have a better service but i will save some money. when I arrive to my home and I put my “new” router the system tell me “it’s not compatible” I review one more time the list and I call to customer service. They tell me this router only works when I rent to them. I spend my time and my money in look the routers and buy one. And COX cannot provide service over the routers they are listed as “compatible” the person attend me tell me only the routers of Netgear can works good. I can be sure Cox it’s not the better company. But in my town, unfortunately, we don’t have option. But... really? They publish a list of routers and it’s not valid?2.7KViews0likes8CommentsDAR1682 USB Drive
Anyone know the max size of drive that the DAR1682 "panoramic modem" can handle for sharing? It seems to handle smaller devices like a 128GB but when I try to connect something large enough to handle my required storage for video sharing it doesn't recognize. 1st I was thinking it might be the 128gb stick was a USB3 but I ordered a 4tb USB disk and it also fails. And before someone asks yes I've tried small "disks" instead of SSD sticks and they work. Just trying to figure out the largest I can attach or if maybe I need a firmware update?2.3KViews0likes1CommentGigablast in Scottsdale
Recently I received an email that gigablast (Docsis 3.1 version) is available in my area. I called and scheduled an appointment for install. I made sure to tell them that today I have ultimate plan with 2 extenders (6,500 square foot house) and that I will need 2 or even 3 extenders with gigablast. I was not told that there would be any problems with this. I called again midweek to verify that extenders will be brought to the install. On the day of the install this past Saturday I was called by the technician and told that extenders for docsis 3.1 were not available and that due to this install couldn’t proceed with guarantees for full house coverage. My questions for Cox: 1. Do you educate your workforce on what is or isn’t available? 2. Why do you claim whole house coverage when this is a lie? 3. What is panoramic if not just an attempt to mislead users into believing that you have service that you actually don’t?1.8KViews1like2CommentsWhen will Gigablast Panoramic WiFi router support the WiFi Pods Mesh options, similar to the prior non-Gigablast version?
When will Gigablast Panoramic WiFi router support the WiFi Pods Mesh options, similar to the prior non-Gigablast version? This will allow extension of the WiFi to more distant parts of the home which may not have consistent connection, correct?1.7KViews0likes2Comments
