Pause time on Contour 2 Client Box
Our client box will only pause for approx 20 minutes if paused after watching the same channel for several hours. What happens is the pause goes "off", live TV starts playing. If I press pause again it will not pause, and I cannot back up. Am I Missing something? ARRIS AX013ANM Pace PXD01ANI7.7KViews0likes7CommentsPause with on demand doesn't work for long
New Cox customer with whole-house DVR (still can't figure out how to determine its model number, but that's another story). I was watching an episode of "NCIS" when I hit the pause button on the remote to go do something in another part of the house. Came back between 5 to 10 minutes later to discover that a generic on demand channel was on screen. No big deal, I thought, I'll just hit the 'play' button and pickup where I left, right? Wrong. Apparently the only choice I had was to start from the beginning. This also happened with an HBO "Treme" program, only with HBO at least I was able to fast-forward! Is this the usual way Cox' on demand works? Please clue me in.Solved5.5KViews0likes2CommentsRecorded DVR shows freeze and pixelate
Over the past week or so, we have discovered that our recorded TV shows on the DVR will freeze and in some cases have a distorted image with pixelation. If we rewind, then the show will freeze at the same location. I have rebooted the entire system and the same recording has the same problem at the same location. Any suggestions.........5.3KViews0likes1CommentDevice says paused but it’s active in the app
We just got a new panoramic modem/router from Cox. It’s been nothing but problems from day 1. We run speed tests on the computer and it says we’re getting fast speeds but pages do not load and we have to disconnect our phones from the WiFi completely to get it to work. The latest issue is that when I try to use my laptop after not having used it in a couple of hours it says the device is paused. I go into the My WiFi app and it says the device is active - not paused at all. The only way I can get the laptop to work is to restart it every time. But that only works for a few minutes. After a few minutes of use pages won’t load again. I’ve called Cox, spent endless hours on the phone, I’ve had a service technician come out, and they’ve been no help at all. We can’t work or do school at home. I’m losing my mind. Any help is appreciated.4.2KViews0likes1CommentBuzzing noise when pausing DVR on Contour system
I recently upgraded to a Sharp 50" flatscreen HD TV. Everything worked great until I went to PAUSE the DVR and there was a very annoying BUZZING NOISE every time! It got to the point where whenever I was going to PAUSE, I would have to hit MUTE on the remote and THEN PAUSE. My brother found a fix on another discussion here and I wanted to let some of the members know that their FIX did WORK! But for some reason I was unable to post. So I wanted to let the Cox moderators know (because I noticed that they didn't have the answer, but another member did) that I was able to fix the problem by going to the CONTOUR SETTINGS, clicking on AUDIO/VIDEO, then AUDIO SETTINGS, then DIGITAL OUTPUT. Once I switched it to PCM (Pulse Code Modulated) instead of DOLBY DIGITAL (AC3) the buzzing IMMEDIATELY stopped. The downside is that I don't have Dolby Digital sound but since I don't have external speakers, I haven't really noticed a difference. The only difference is that there is NO MORE ANNOYING BUZZING!! Hope this helps others out there with this issue.2.4KViews0likes1CommentSound goes in and out on shows that were paused then caught up
When I pause a show on live tv, then catch up to real time, the sound will go in and out. Out for 5 seconds or so, then on for a minute or two, then out again. If I flip channels and then go back, it fixes itself. If this is happening and the show is also recording, the recorded version has the same issue, plus it won't show me what I'm forwarding through when fast forwarding. The picture stays on a still pic of what was on when I hit fast forward. Does anyone else have this? Is it normal, or should I call Cox about it?2.3KViews0likes3Comments
