Constant Price Increase
Cox's idea of "customer service" is a complete joke. I've had Cox for probably the last 5+ years while in the Norfolk, VA area. That excludes a 6 month stay in Northern Virginia, where they have more internet options. Over the years I have had to call Cox every 6 months for a new "promotion". They can't ever just offer a change or downgrade of service online. That is the first issue. You want people to have to call and stay on the phone for over 30 minutes at least twice a year. On top of that, there is never any warning that your bill is going to increase drastically in the next month. One day you open your bill and it's just $20-$50 dollars more than it has been for the last several months! So, okay, it's that time of year to go make an annoying, drawn out, sales-y phone call again. I always try to downgrade or remove my services when this happens, but then suddenly, oh the price for internet alone is more than if you bundle the service with something else... Really, that's funny, because I look at my bill and it says $69.99 internet + $30 TV - $20 for bundle. Ok, so $80 for both. But now that I don't want TV, the internet is no longer $69.99, but $79.99. Meanwhile, my boyfriend pays $84 for internet and gets 50 more mbps. Then my co-workers bundle package says $53.99 for my same internet level. What the f*** is this s***!?!? This is just complete B.S. I would leave if I could, but Cox has a complete monoploy in this area. If I left, I would have to get dial up because Fios is not offered in my area. This has happened so many times, I've gone from $40 to $50 to $55 to $60 to $70 and now finally $80 for internet. WTF?! I hate Cox with a passion and so does everyone in this area that I speak to, but we have no choice. Stop screwing everyone over and learn something about customer service.2.1KViews0likes1Comment- 1.9KViews0likes2Comments
Another Price Hike?
I'm now being charged $82.99 per month for Preferred Internet service. Every time I measure my download speeds, they clock in at 45Mbps or less. CenturyLink has 40Mbps plans for $34.95 per month, guaranteed price for 2 years. Why should I keep paying $82.99 per month for 45Mbps from Cox when I can get 40Mbps from CenturyLink for $34.95 per month?1.3KViews0likes1CommentWhy have your prices climbed when your service is unusable?
Your prices have climbed so high. We have had cox for a long time like 10+ years, and your prices have only gotten higher while your service has degraded. I had problems with latency, ping, and jitter even before corona. I got tired of doing the run around, but its so sad that with all the revenue from overselling your Nodes and hiking prices; the company was never able to upgrade their infrastructure. A lot of people are filing FCC complaints, and I hope it does something ( I doubt it.) I cant even go to class without getting Packet loss. Its futile. The worst part is, the company is policing the threads, and we cant even voice our concern. I understand its your company, but its OUR money that your taking. You are liable to delivering that service.619Views1like2CommentsData Caps
Is there ANY plan to just get rid of data caps altogether? Almost every ISP has migrated away from and abolished data caps at every speed plan in the US. Spectrum in Texas offered 500mbps with no data caps for 60$/mo. The fact that Cox dosent even extend the data cap to say: 2tb for 500mb or 4tb for gigabit is absolutely ludacris. 1.25tb amounts to nothing in 2022 and its either purposefully done to rake more money out of customers or the higher ups are so out of touch they think meat is grown in the deli isle. It wouldn't be so bad if there were actual competitors in the panhandle but that's not the case due to all the lobbying and gerrymandering for control of areas. Cox, please do something an extra 50$/mo for unlimited download is rediculous. If cell providers can offer unlimited data, you have no excuse.372Views0likes0Comments
