how to determine a receiver's model number
I come here with the notion that if I'm having an issue of any kind I can't be the only one. Take for instance the brevity of the display of closed captioning---I've read more than a few complaints (like the ones I have) but not as of yet any solutions. With almost every query the response is the same: "Are you having this issue on all TVs or just one? Can you verify the receiver models you have and the type and manufacture of the TVs?" It's at this point where all further forum discussion ends. Well, my question for today is:I've tried searching most every logical, intuitive area of every on-screen menu-----Where in any of the on-screen settings windows would I find listed the model number of the receiver I'm using?Solved11KViews0likes3CommentsCan't find my GMX9865 on Cox' Identifying Your Cox Digital Receiver webpage
Unless it's listed under a different manufacturer/model number on this Cox page (https://www.cox.com/content/cox/residential/corporate/locations/greaterlouisiana/pages/support/identifying-your-cox-digital-receiver.html), the main DVR device we currently have installed (according tohttps://www.cox.com/resaccount/my-services.cox ) , a GMX9865, either fell between the cracks or is so new that Cox hasn't had the time to list it. While it continues to function as per designed and installed (with the exception of having on occasion to repeat a command on the remote - line of sight?), I'm curious as to why it's not to be found on the above Cox Receiver reference page.2.6KViews0likes3CommentsCertain group of channels do not tune in on one of my cable boxes.
I have three cable receivers (one HDDVR and 2 standard HD). One of the standard HD receivers will not show the 300 channels. I've called and they asked me to reboot by unplugging, which I did. The problem went away until the next TV viewing session. I shouldn't have to reboot the receiver each time I want to watch channels in the 300 range. Can I just get a receiver that works?2KViews0likes2CommentsNew main receiver puts all my boxes to sleep
With my newcontor main receiver replaced, now all my boxes go to sleep/power saver mode. I have not been able to shut this feature off! I called for support but they told me to shut off the power saver and it was. How do I shut off this feature? I am caring for a disabled Uncle and he can not use the remote, I'll turn the TV on for him then go do chores and when I check on my Uncle the TV has a screen saver on it. It doesn't appear to take that long before this happens. I've already received account credit for not providing service, but I need to fix this ASAP for my Uncle. Thanks1.3KViews0likes4Comments
