Call blocking of Spam
I have unsuccessfully tried to activate NoMoRoBo and need support. These are the steps performed: Cox->Settings NoMoRoBo->ON Established an account at NoMoRoBo as directed. Unable to Activate in Settings Simultaneous Ring->On Unable to Save. The Save button is grayed out. How do I save the setting? On a related issue, I have seen comments on the NoMORoBo interactions, and its failure to block spam. There are the issues: The Text message seen shows a legitimate address from a legitimate person/enterprise. To remove this phone one must do "Selective Call Blocking", I have seen it initiated as both *60 and *67. Please clarify. The Text message does not have a phone number. See selective blocking above. The Text message shows a phone number which Cox recognizes as incorrect. There should be an option to block all such calls. And to this I not that in order for a call to proceed, Cox must know the actual phone number used. Knowing this number allows communication. Not knowing this number does not allow Cox to initiate of continue the call. Therefore, Cox knows this number and should be able to take appropriate action. And, to this I add, that this is irrespective of whether the actual number is VoIP or conventional. I would like this blocking service!4.8KViews0likes6CommentsRobo calls
This is probably the 5th time I am asking what is your plan to inhibit robo calls that are so annoying? My brother in Washington state has an intercept when his number is dialed which states "this number does not accept solicitation calls, if you are a solicitor hang up, if you are not press 2 to continue ." This way the phone never rings as the computer senses an out going message and hangs up, why can't COX provide this service? I am at the point of canceling my home phone service.4.3KViews0likes5CommentsUpgrade to TG2472 Modem/router/eMTA
I have scheduled the install of the upgrade to VOIP telephony and the combo modem/router above. Will this enable the "simultaneous ring" feature that is needed to get nomorerobo to work? The constant barrage of robots calls, and Cox's unwillingness to address the issue is frustrating. Can I get nomorerobo via another provider?2.5KViews0likes1CommentUnwanted calls, robo calls, etc
I have been reading many comments from people who are co thmplaining about unwanted calls and how to stop them. Many people are registered with the DNS (myself included) and this is not working for anyone. There is a really easy solution which I am surprised nobody has even mentioned. My phone announces whomever is calling by voice, caller ID, etc. If it is someone I know I can answer it. If it is someone that I do not recognize but when they start to leave a message and I do want to talk to this person then again I answer it. In this way I am not talking to sales persons or scammers. END OF THE PROBLEM. A very easy solution to a never ending problem. I always have said that if someone wants to talk to me they will leave me a message and if not then just hang up like to many of these callers always do anyway. So it is not taking up my time answering calls that I do not want.6.9KViews0likes4CommentsJunk mail, waste of natural resource.
What do I have to do to get Cox to stop sending me junk mail every week about getting a digital phone? I dumped my phone years ago, if I wanted another phone to ring all day and night with robo calls because Cox can't block them, I would get one. Hey Cox, news flash, people don't want land lines anymore that they can't block all the ** robo calls on.3KViews0likes1Comment
