COX delays EBB implementation
I qualified and got approved for EBB 30 days ago, then was able to pass CheckID and get info linked to my COX info, 28 days ago. I have called Customer service and gave gotten 3 different ETAs and NO RESOLUTION. One rep said 5 biz days, another said 30 days. I am STILL waiting for the EBB $50 monthly credit to be applied. Rep told me late fee would apply if $50 is not paid by due date. Apparently, COX is super slow to apply Federal credit but superfast at billing. I will be writing to my Congressman & President regardings delays implementing the financial assist. COX should not be allowed to charge late payment fees because of their own system failures. They are just taking advantage of the little people. WRITE to your congressmen and file a complaint with FCC!! *** This should prefaced by " IF & WHEN YOUR INTERNET COMPANY DESIRES," the Emergency Broadband Benefit is an FCC program to help families and households struggling to afford internet service during the COVID-19 pandemic. This new benefit will connect eligible households to jobs, critical healthcare services, virtual classrooms, and so much more.1.9KViews2likes5CommentsCOVID-19, Slow Speeds, and Why You Are Paying Full Price for Them!
COVID-19 is clearly slowing down many of Cox’s servers due to the increase of Residential use across the nation. Many more people are at home and needing to use the internet for very demanding virtual tasks to replace going to work. Gaming has also increased substantially with schools and colleges around the nation closing. This is throttling your internet speeds drastically as we speak! Why are we still paying full price for our service then? Follow this link to submit an informal complaint to the FCC for Cox’s unwillingness to reimburse their customers for paying for full price speeds, while realistically receiving fractions of the speed! https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us For example I have the Ultimate package at 300 mbps, and currently I am receiving anywhere from 5 kbps to 20 mbps!1.6KViews2likes3CommentsSince Cox never gives me the internet speeds I pay for, will they go down if I downgrade my service?
Title. I pay $100/month for 150 Mbps but never does it get any higher than 25, no matter when I speed test it. I connect straight to the modem via ethernet and can have no other devices and Since my current plan is "up to" 150 mpbs but Cox refuses to provide service close to that, can I just downgrade to the 50 Mbps plan without any change in service, or will they just throttle my internet even more?1KViews1like1Comment
