Smart devices are not connecting to panoramic WiFi
It's been a month now since i upgraded to the gigablast plan and panoramic WiFi router. Ever since i did that most of my smart devices are failing to connect. Google nest thermostat, tuya smart bulbs, etekcity smart plugs. I tried to reset the bulbs and connect to the 2.4ghz network SSID but it tries for few minutes and fails. Nest support says the ping is very high (3000+),the so device shows offline. Have reset to factory defaults 5 times with help from their tech support but no luck. Just to test, i connected to my neighbor's WiFi (with his permission) and it worked immediately. After it worked, i switched the connection to my WiFi network and it went back to showing offline now. Speed test doesn't work as well (ookla) even through cox app. Only Google's works. Anyone else facing these issues? Any solution? P.S. All smart devices were working fine with my previous Netgear router. Stopped working only after panoramic WiFi router was setup.20KViews2likes30Comments'Access point temporarily full' on 2.4GHz
I'm having exactly the same problem as described in this post:https://forums.cox.com/forum_home/internet_forum/f/internet-forum/27687/access-point-temporarily-full-on-2-4ghz-is-there-a-limit-of-connected-devices/108616 Unfortunately, that post has been 'locked' (what's the point of that?!) and no solution has been posted. I have numerous smarthome devices, a good 40 of them, connected to my 2.4GHz wifi network, but there's always at least one that can't connect. When I try to connect my phone, it says 'Access point temporarily full'. I had pretty much the same set of lights, thermostats, fans and switches at the previous place I lived, and that had no problem. Research shows that wifi networks normally support up to 256 connections at once, and I have nowhere near that number of devices. But my Cox Panoramic access point seems to have some kind of limit, and I can't find a setting to change it. I can connect my phone to the 5GHz network, but not the smart devices; they just don't do that, which is why I turned on a separate 2.4GHz network, as much as the Cox app urged me not to. Any ideas how to fix this? Some 'advanced' setting hidden somewhere? The Cox app is generally pretty convenient, but it's frustrating the way some settings are so convoluted, probably in a misguided effort to dumb it down.3KViews0likes4CommentsSmart LED Lights Cause Internet on PC to Stop Working
Cox Modem: Panoramic Gateway Smart LED lights: Govee I bought some Govee LED smart lights and put them in my bedroom where my PC is. They are on my 2.4 GHz network. They only work on the 2.4 GHz network. When the smart LED lights are on, the internet on my PC stops working. The internet immediately starts working when I turn the smart lights off. I did a browser speed test on my PC when the lights are off (ping was 8 m/s) and when the lights were on (ping was 600+ m/s, but eventually my internet would stop working). I have unlimited data on my internet, so I didn't think turning on some lights should cause the internet to stop working. My other devices (smartphone, Amazon Echo Spot, Macbook, iPad, Amazon Fire Stick) are all unaffected and work just fine when my smart lights are on. I've had smart lights at my previous apartment and never had this problem, though they were a different brand - not sure if that matters. My PC is connected to the internet via powerline adapters/Ethernet cables. My Cox Panoramic modem is in the living room, which is about 25-30 feet from my bedroom where my PC/smart lights are (not sure if that matters). I tried resetting the modem, plugging in my Ethernet cables to different ports, but have had no success. Also, I noticed that even though my PC has a wired connection, it displays that I am connected to my 2.4 GHz network. Unlike my previous router that Cox supplied at my previous apartment, ever since I got my Panoramic modem, I have not had the option of the 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz network, it only gives me the option of 5 GHz. My previous router gave me that choice. Plus, since it's a wired connection, shouldn't it not really matter anyway since it's a direct connection? I tried combining the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks into one band, since that's apparently one of the features of the Panoramic, but didn't get any success with that. Help would be greatly appreciative. I couldn't find anyone that had this problem, as it seems very specific, so I figured I'd try posting on this forum. Thanks.354Views0likes1Comment
