Spam Infestation
I have noticed an increase is spam email coming into my primary Cox account within the past few months and have forwarded many of them to Cox's spam report, but it keeps coming in under a variety of subject lines including, Crepe Erase, Liberty Mutual Insurance, EHarmony, ABC Shark Tank, Lark Wellness, Ringing Ears, Home Warranty Special, to name a few. The domains are obviously bogus so I'm curious as to why Cox's spam filters aren't picking them up prior to delivery and I'm wondering if others have seen a similar trend? I have received 72 of them since May 21st!!23KViews3likes34Commentsspam emails from my contacts
Okay this is more about email than internet, but I have been receiving spam emails from fake emails from my contacts, (like the emails are untraceable, and the spelling of my name and the senders name are misspelled versions of the real names as if a robot or foreigner is trying to spell). Each email usually looks like this: "Hello (my name), I found something very interesting for you (link to some website labeled 'detailed info') Sorry for the monkey thumbs, (Signed from misspelled contact name)" Is my account hacked? What do i do? I don't know how they got my contact info and my name? side note: the fake emails are both "sent from" athletic trainers I had in high school.5.2KViews0likes8CommentsInbox Filters Stop Working
I'm trying to make use of Inbox Filters on my enhanced email account. Cox support is terrible with regard to SPAM. I mean, the worst really. The support techs have zero knowledge. They keep trying to get me to switch on SPAMBLOCKER, which is not a thing in enhanced. It's like I have t spend 10 minutes convincing them that once an accout has migrated to enhanced, you can't login in to classic anymore. I do have Settings - Inbox - Spam Filter set - Delete SPAM, but all kinds of spam continues to come through. So, I'm using Settings - Inbox - Filters. Good idea, except that at some point, they just stop working. I d on't know if its some number of conditions or what, but they work for awhile, then stop. I've gotten rather sophisticated. I have a FROM filter, that uses "any condition" and a list of FROM conditions INCLUDE, that sends spam to a SPAM/FROM sub folder Same thing for a SUBJECT filter I even have an experimental one that tries to use ENVELOPE or HEADER CONTAINS, but I've never seen that one work. For awhile I get spam delivered to the sub folders as the filter catches them, then they just stop. Why?4.6KViews0likes8CommentsWhat does it take for Cox to act on a Ticket submitted 6 weeks ago re emails going to spam
I'm ready to move to a new email provider if Cox doesn't get their act together. Cox doesn't allow customers to whitelist email addresses they want to receive mail from, you have to submit a ticket. I submitted a ticket April 12 and followed up 3-4 times and all I hear is that there's a backlog. They don't seem to have a backlog when it comes to increasing my bill. So I have legitimate emails from Google, Youtube, HBO, my gas company, my own city government, Netflix, Godaddy, numerous other emails I signed up to receive, and most importantly, work-related emails that consistently go to spam. Still no resolution. This is terrible customer service.4KViews1like9CommentsSOON TO BE 2021 ... AND THE COX WEB-MAIL "SPAM BOMBARDMENT" STILL CONTINUES
https://ibb.co/gFPnY57 The infestation that's getting through Cox mail servers has got so bad that it's outright inexcusable, and I dread every moment when it comes time to check my email. In many ways it seems like Cox is a magnet for attracting not just spam, but other exploits, such as spoofing, phishing and pharming. Stuff that cyber-criminals use to deliver malware, attract victims to malicious websites or to steal confidential and sensitive data. In all honestly, I get more garbage than legitimate messages that it's become a frustrating chore sifting through the mess it creates. Not to mention the hours I've wasted in the daunting task of creating over a hundred, non-effective, "filter rules" to weed out some of the reoccurring pests. In fact my Inbox looks no different then my Spam folder, each containing a mixture of both spam and legitimateemails (just as the image shows above). "Marking" an email as spam is a joke too, and you’re a fool in trying to utilize that option because it does absolutely nothing. Perhaps it’s because protective measures are not being implemented by the server. But even if they were, I shouldn’t be receiving the samegarbageevery single day. And just to prove I'm not exaggerating, here a "small list" of the garbage accumulated in a typical work week: SelectHomeWarranty, Gadget Junkies, Leaf Filter Discount, Sams Club reward, CVS Pharmacy Survey, AltaiBalance, Truth_Finder, Caringforaparent.com, VeteranInsuranceDiscounts, Support Center, Soft Erections, Home Solar Survey, PowerPro-PowerSaver, FreezAir Pro, UV PhoneSanitizer|SterilizerXf, Talcum-powder-lawsuit settlement.com, TalcumPowderLawsuit, Dream Home Ideas, Pest Control, Max-Performer, ProbioticEase|Special, Dear Beneficiary, eharmony Partner, Protect Your Home - ADT Premier Provider, awesomestuff2buy.com, Exclusive Tactical Flashlight, NationalConcealedAcademy, REPLY ME URGENTLY, Wheel of Fortune, FRONTLINE KN95 Facemask, Vivint.SmartHome, Gemini Trust, AAGMortgage, Premium Mattresses by Lull, BANK OF CHINA, SeniorsDiscountsClub Info, PowerPro-PowerSaver, Nutrisystem Discount, BestCarInsurance, Pure Radiance, TommyChong, BoyScoutsAbuseLawsuit.com, Anti-Virus Protection, EZBatteryReconditioning, seniorperks, Boundery eBulb, Nerve Renew Wes, RoundUp Lawsuit, Walk-in Safety Tub, GutterProtector.coPromo, SunPower Promo, Buy Mask Shield, Male Enhancement, InjurySurvey.com Info, Cannabis Gummies, DoGoodPoints, SNOWTeethWhitening, FreeFlashlight, Enlarged Prostate, PlatinumAutoWarranty, BathroomRenovationShop, USAMilitarySavings Info, RoofingSurvey, Oil Change Coupons, Diet Legends Keto Fuel, NationalConcealedAcademyTraining, Smart Living Tips, ZantacInjuryHelp.com, ShopThePersonalButcher Ad, Nutrition Tips, FundsForVictims, Crepe Erase. Not only is it enough to make your head spin, but it's an issue that's shared with thousands of other Cox customers who are equally just as frustrated. In fact this abuse has been going on way too long and it's about time that the company finally takes immediate action to combat these security issues - rather than continuing to ignore them over the years by neglecting the basic techniques for securing their systems - and thus leaving us vulnerable. Frankly, I strongly feel that we as consumers deservemore consideration than what we've been getting, as well as receiving the best protection against alloutside threats. After all, if Gmail can protect their users from spam and other exploits for free, then why can't Cox at least tryby doing the same? With that said, I'm convinced that Cox is technologically behind the eight-ball and is seriously in need of updating or adding more security layersto get back up to speed. Please weigh in if you agree. NOTE TO MODERATOR: Judging by the many posts on this particular subject during the past several years, this has been an ongoing issue that has yet to be resolved. Since this is forum open for discussion, it would be greatly appreciated that you allow more ample time for comments and/or suggestions to be heard before making the final decision of marking this thread as locked. Thank you.3.9KViews0likes11Commentswebmail down???
Has anyone else been having trouble logging into webmail?? I think the server was hacked because I have been receiving a ton of spam emails from my "contacts", and I have never received spam emails before. Does anyone know if the server is down or what is happening?3.2KViews0likes3CommentsCox SPAM Filters
I enabled the Cox SPAM filters back when the option became available over a decade ago. Then, starting in Jun 2018 my inbox began to get flooded with SPAM daily. I have reported hundreds of SPAM messages to Cox with no let down in the amount of SPAM messages. All the SPAM has nonsensical text in their bodies. Cox used to block this but looks like they have stopped doing it. My attempts to work this through Support has gone nowhere. I go from getting less than five spam emails over ten years to over 400 since June. I guess Cox has turned off SPAM filtering. This is extremely frustrating. Anyone have a good suggestion as to how to stop the avalanche of SPAM? Thanks!2.5KViews0likes5Comments10 question survey for free samsanug s10 or iphone 11 legit or not?
