Thunderbird Mail and McAfee
I recently installed the McAfee internet protection package offered by Cox. Since then, when sending e-mail I often get an error message the first time. Then I try again and the message is sent. I checked Mozilla and found this information. Thunderbird All versions and McAfee High CPU usage, a message 'Sending of message failed. Unable to open the temporary file C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\Temp\nsmail.tmp. Check your 'Temporary Directory' setting.' and in extreme cases Thunderbird crashes McAfee have been aware of the issue since early 2013. Issues should be raised with McAfee so that they can fix their product. Is Cox doing anything to influence a fix with McAfee?2.5KViews0likes1CommentIssue w/ SMTP in Thunderbird 45.8.0
I've had issues before with it not saving outgoing mail in Thunderbird, but NEVER in sending. This has appeared over the last 24 hours or so, still works fine in my phone & iMac (both using IMAP and Apple Mail). Now that I'm typing this I realize it might be JUST due to the VPN. I do use it with different end points/cities. But either way it's happening and I need to be able to send e-mails, regardless of what city/country I appear to be sending from. Hello, I use thunderbird to get and send emails. I can still retrieve my email with Thunderbird. When I try to send an email I keep getting an error message. Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail Outgoing server (STMP) error. The server responded: cxr-obgw-5002a.stratus.cloudmark.com cmsmtp 15.181.96.243 blocked. Refer to Error Codes section at www.cox.com/.../email-error-codes.html for more information. AUP#CXDNS. I however looked up this code: CXDNS There was an issue with the connecting IP address Domain Name System (DNS). The Reverse DNS (rDNS) lookup for your IP address is failing. Confirm the IP address that sends your email. Check the rDNS of that IP address. If it passes, then wait 24 hours and try resending your email. I have been trying to find how to contact cox by email but I am unable to find anything. Can anyone help me?501Views0likes0Comments- 99Views0likes3Comments
