MTR700 adapter, TiVo Roamio, & cable card not pairing correctly
I have about gave up on keeping cox service after 37 years. We recently got a TiVo Roamio. Cox charged us $60.00 to come and install the cable card and MTR700 tuner adapter. After it was installed, we are not getting our variety pack channels and our bonus pack channels. They said they would call back that night and I never heard from them. I called again and they sent another tech out. He tried a new MTR700 adapter and same thing happened. He said he would check back later that night and we never heard anything. I have looked this up on this forum and found where Cox has helped people solve this same type of issue where they are missing some of their channels. There is no excuse why I should keep getting the run around. We PAY for these channels and we are not getting them. When other people have had this problem solved, I don't feel like a valued customer when I am getting no where and no answers with them. Here is the link to one of the forums where they solved this type of problem. On this forum they were talking about exactly what my status is showing, which is: Con: Yes EBCP: Yes Val: ? 0x15 http://forums.cox.com/forum_home/tv_forum/f/4/t/4639.aspx bryaninphx Posted by bryaninphx 12 Apr 2014 8:32 PM I do not think your CableCARD is properly Paired and Validated, You should check CableCard->Conditional Access screen to see if your CableCard is properly paired. You should see a "V" after Val for properly paired CableCard. EXAMPLES: NOT PAIRED PROPERLY Con: Yes EBCP: Yes Val: ? 0x15 PAIRED PROPERLY Con: Yes EBCP: Yes Val: V 0x0E If Con = No then that means the CableCard is not activated Compare to the following screen: http://support.tivo.com/euf/assets/files/Moto_MCARD_pairing_cp.pdf Call Cox at 1-877-820-8202, ask them to remove and rebuild the CableCARD and Tuning Adapter on your account27KViews0likes49CommentsTiVo & Cox OnDemand in Phoenix
The forums say some people have it and some people don't have OnDemand on their TiVo's in Phoenix. Phone reps have said its available. TiVo Website says its available on a blog post but then in the support documents it's only available in one zip code. 4 techs have been out to my house and they state "it should be working." TiVo support said in the morning it is available and in the afternoon it wasn't. Cox twitter support said they could get it working but then said if TiVo said it wasn't available it wasn't available. So is it available or not. I am really tired of being told its available and it's not. Xfinity had it for years and it worked great. Heck at this point Xfinity/Comcast is looking like a better company than Cox, and that is saying something!16KViews0likes32CommentsNeed CableCard help with Tivo Roamio!
Had a disappointing technical service situation yesterday. I probably should have done more homework before calling Tech Support (as strange as that sounds). I have had a Tivo Premiere with CableCard for 18+ months with no issues. Purchased a new Tivo Roamio Plus and swapped the CableCard into it. Had a couple small issues that were easily solved in talking to both Tivo and Cox tech support. That's where the positive experience stops. I can no longer receive my two Premium Packages (HBO and Showtime). I called Cox Tech Support I do not believe there is anything Tivo can do or I could do to my Tivo to get them to work. The tech support elevated me to another tech -- and by the end of the 15 min call he gave me the option of a same day tech support at my home. Took advantage of that ..... Tech arrived and called up tech support himself and they pinged my tuning adapter several times, recycling it as well and the Tivo once. He said he could change the cableCard but recently had same trouble with another customer who has a Roamio and nothing would fix it. So he left - telling me to call Tivo back as it was likely their problem. Reading online it is now very clear to me that the CableCard I have is not fully compatible with this 6 tuner Tivo DVR. Now that Cox itself is using 6 tuner DVRs one would think they would have new CableCards and know to use them. I have a Motorola card Part # 514517-012-00 several lengthy threads on Tivo forums and other sites point to this problem It would be safe to say that: - MCBPOD1 + 2 (pre-17) cards work for all channels except those that are copy protected (hbo, cinemax, 131) - MCBPOD3 (17) cards will work. Now, I have missed Homeland this week, (the ONLY reason I pay for Showtime) and will next week as I am traveling starting tomorrow. Will not be able to fix this -- IF Cox can provide the new cards -- for two weeks. VERY frustrated.14KViews0likes5CommentsTIVO Tuning Adaptor spontaneous restart/reboot
For the past two months, the two Cisco Tuning Adaptors associated with my two TIVO's have been restarting by themselves. For a while they were synchronized i.e. they both rebooted at the same time. Now they both have a mind of their own. Every time a TA restarts, the TIVO gives up on any recordings and interrupts any viewing with messages about the TA. You get a second message once the TA restarts, also with terminated recordings. Reboot time varies a lot. Sometimes a couple times a day, sometimes 2 or 3 times a week. Often during the 4th quarter of a Suns or Warriors basket ball game. This is getting old. Cox has been out 4 times. Replaced both tuning adaptors and cable cards. No change. They have blamed it on noise issues, aka ingress (first guy). In house cabling - second guy who replaced every connector he could find. No change. Third guy blamed my amplifier and installed his own. Fourth guy blamed the amplifier installed by the third guy. He replaced it with a mid split amplifier. No change. Problem remains with no significant change. Very difficult to test since it takes between 12 and 36 hours for a TA to reboot on its own. Guy number 5 is now scheduled to come out.Perhaps hewill have better luck. My head is spinning. Smells like a head end issue to me. Is it just coincidence that these problems began with the death of the 1000 series channels, increased modem speed and the death of VOD? And just today, they have suddenly been rebooting in synchronization. Three times so far. Both rebooted within seconds of one another.... Any suggestions would be appreciated.Solved13KViews0likes100CommentsTivo and Cable Cards
Does anyone know anyone at cox who actually has an IDea about Cable Cards and Tivo ? I had an Install last thursday and after 3 hrs at my house the tech gave up, so i called Cable support who after some trouble shooting told me the Card is bad, so i went to my Local Cox Store to get a new card, to be safe i got 3 cards. Tried with Remote tech all 3. Still no Luck. Friday a new tech comes trys the cards again and some new ones no luck. He opens ticket with tier 3 and that's where i am stuck. Its now 4 days later and all i get is lip service on when and if it will be resolved. Paying for a service i cant use and know one knows whats going on. If the problem is that cards are still associated with other systems, one would think that COX would make sure that any card returned to inventory is clean and working12KViews0likes25CommentsUnable to Access Cox On Demand on Tivo Bolt
I joined the Cox family on Saturday under the silver package and love how fast the internet is. The only down side is that my new Tivo Bolt does not appear to be configured for Cox On Demand even though I am subscribed to the Contour TV package and 150 mbps internet.11KViews0likes26CommentsMiniBox with Hauppage WinTV Tuner card in my PC
Hi I subscribe to Cox digital cable with HD. I have two TVs with cable boxes but I also have a Hauppage WinTV HVR 1600 in my PC as well. I run the cable to my PC without a cable box. I don't really need it. I use this setup to record the channels that I can receive without a cable box. This has been working well for years. I would like to understand how this pending change (requiring me to use the MiniBox) will affect my recordings. Currently, this TV tuner see two sets of channels: Set1: Approx 90 Analog channels Set2: Approx 30 OTA HD channels (Clear QAM). If I understand this correctly, I will no longer see the analog channels without this box yes? Will I still see the OTA/Clear Qam channels without the box or do I need the box for those too? Thank you -SteveSolved7.7KViews0likes13CommentsCox support telling me TiVO no longer supported, which is illegal correct?
I have had TiVo working correctly with Cox for years. I made the transition to tuning adapter without incident. Everything worked fine. I have 4 Tivos. About 6 months ago they stopped receiving the majority of premium channels. Meaning HBO 1300 and 1301 works, the rest say "Channel not available". Only one Cinemax will work, same with rest of channels. Now I am noticing lots of channels no longer working that are expanded but not premium. I have had the worst customer service experience EVER. 4 appointments wasted my time. Three were scheduled by COx and the tech never showed never called. A supervisor told me that they don't send technicians for premium channel issues and that the appointments were 'auto cancelled' without calling me. The technician that DID come said he wasn't qualified to work on TiVo cable cards and scheduled a supervisor to come. That appointment was also auto cancelled no call no show. Cox customer service said the on time guarantee doesn't apply because the appointment was cancelled.....(ignoring the fact that THEY cancelled it!) Finally after weeks a supervisor level tech comes. He checks all the settings, the signal strength etc etc. Everything is set as it should be....... ....and he drops a bomb shell that he was made aware that there is now a compatibility issue with cable cards and Cox service and there is nothing that cane be done. the local market is Gainesville fl. The audio visual store that did the work on my house has said ALL the TiVo customers they know of are having this problem. Paying for a service not getting....which is required but law to be available....and add to that bad customer service. I can add specific information such as cable card settings. But if anyone else has useful information I'd love to hear it before dropping cox.5.9KViews0likes3Comments
