Upload Speeds drop in the Evening.
Been having some issues as of late. in the evening the upload speeds drop considerably. to the point where my sons can not game online on their ps4. bought a new modem and new router thinking it would solve the issue. then we upgraded to the ultimate package at 300/30. sometime around 7pm every night the upload speeds drop and come back around 10pm or so. all other times speeds seem to be fine. what could it be? have had a tech out and he changed all ends on the cables and signal tests were good at that point. issue still hasn't been resolved. requency start Value This field below allows you to modify the frequency the cable modem start with its scan during initialization and registration. My connection drops just enough for me to lose my connection to online games. I just recently upgraded my modem to take advantage of the new Ultimate speeds (300/30). I am currently using an Arris TG2472. I had zero issues with disconnects until switching to this modem. I have it wired (Cat6) directly into my PC's onboard NIC (Killer E2200 on my MSi Gaming 5 motherboard). Sometimes I can go hours without disconnecting, other times it happens multiple times a minute. I've reset the modem many times. I'm unable to determine if my other devices lose connection due to the duration of disconnect being so brief and I'm not always watching them like my main PC. Attached are my modem logs (surprised the tables stayed intact ). Any ideas? We upgraded to ultimate and went to purchase a Cox compatible modem. The one at the store was Cisco DPC3010. I had it installed, then, when speeds were questionable, a tech came out. He fixed it up. Now though, we both noticed a problem: I have two wireless routers--Netgear WPN824 and a Rosewill RNX-N360RT(brand new). Both of them, with less than a foot away from the PC we were testing, gave around 11-30mbps down and 1-10up. Wired connection pulled in at 129Mbps down, 41 up. These are two different wireless routers by two separate manufactures I've tested with default settings, while the tech was standing next to me. We are both clueless as to how to approach this. I have read in some rare occasions that Cisco products tend to not play well with other routers. I don't want to spend more money in this upgrade by blindly purchasing a new router or a new modem without some certainty. If anyone else has had this issue with DPC3010 not playing well with wireless routers, or have a router that works well with it giving out full speeds, please let me know. Thanks in advance.7.5KViews0likes5CommentsLow Upload speeds.
basically through exhaustive testing on multiplecomputers routers and switchs i still only receive 6-9mbps upload on testmy.net and real uploads to youtube google cloud and dropbox. My download speeds are fine, Called tier 2 support ans said its likely a issue with my sb6190 since all signal reading good and speedtest to cox and speedtest.net are fine and requested i try a new modem.5.4KViews0likes14CommentsUltimate Internet only providing 25-35mbps...
Is anyone else having issues getting the advertised speed of 50mbps with the Ultimate plan? $109 a month seemsEXTREMELY steep for speeds that I was getting with the Premiere service. With Premiere I was almost ALWAYS clocking between 25-35mbps. It was always above the advertised speed. Now I feel like I'm getting ripped off only pulling up to 40mbps (very rarely). I have had techs out on 3separateoccasions what have all done the same work, checking connections and redoing the last guys work. They're are telling me it's going to be hard to get up to 50mbps because I have two PCs, two 360s, and one laptop. I always got between 25-35mbps with this same set up on Premiere. Our tower PCs plugged right into the modem don't get any higher. I WANT MY MBPS! I will not be paying $100 for the same service I was getting with Premiere.4.5KViews0likes4CommentsUltimate Plan - Number of IP adresses
I was under the impression that I have up to three IP addresses available to me. I'd like to set up a separate network, but before I go buy a new router and switch, I'd like confirmation. Cox support has been unhelpful, as if they don't understand what I'm asking (maybe it is me, I don't know). Thanks all.4.4KViews0likes4CommentsHave 300mbps plan but only get 50mbps
I purchased the ultimate a while ago and have only been getting max about 50-60 mbps without anyone else on the internet. Ultimate Internet should be getting around 100-150 Mbps download...Getting under 30. Very disappointed in the price that I pay and the service that Cox delivers. I ran 3 speed test through Cox Servers. This is a Cat5 into the modem. Already reset it. Super dissapointed.3.6KViews0likes6CommentsCox Internet on Ultimate using SB6141 has suffered Constantly
