Me and my girl friend are having issues streaming on cox to Twitch,YouTube,Mixer and Facebook.
So my girl friend is an affiliate on twitch and for the past 6 months we have had issues streaming to twitch we have had several techs come out to the house and do every thing they could from replace the router/modem combo and completely rework the box on the side of our house and replacing all the coax lines. I after 12 days of the issue persisting went out and purchased all new LAN cables with the highest grade possible with gold plated shielding and all around 80 bucks all together. after the first month the issue still didn't disappear matter of fact its been happening every time we stream for more than 2 minutes. Okay so lets get to business and show you modem levels log files and server tests for streaming to show you what i'm dealing with. My current internet plan is the ultimate 300/30 Mbps with unlimited data. Internet plan https://imgur.com/a/spWS9mO modem signals https://imgur.com/a/QgoJgDL Now I do have a theory as to why she and I drop frames and it has to do with upload specific packet loss because when she or I are in a game the network symbol for packet loss appears for a bit as my stream struggles to stay connected, now here are some speed tests supporting this theory because when i'm streaming and take a speed test my upload is fine but I think there might be packet loss on my upstream which causes the dropped frames and unstable connection! https://imgur.com/a/2rSZVqB Okay now for the next test this is a quality test for your upload to the twitch servers mind you need a score above 80 to not drop frames or have issues I will post 3 screen shots showing the test and the max bit-rate I can use without issues aka upload speed, reminder though these are not consistent today the test may show good results and the next day it shows bad results I and today could be one of the good days. The reason I do a 30 second test is because it gives the most ideal and best of your connection. Thats the end of the tests if you can help me find out why I drop frames when I stream to YouTube or Twitch please comment the potential issue.6.9KViews1like4Comments“What’s UP?” Problems since new firmware push for MB8600: 8600-19.3.15; VERY SLOW UPLOAD SPEEDS, plus broken modem admin utility/GUI
“What’s UP?” Problems since new firmware push for MB8600: 8600-19.3.15; VERY SLOW UPLOAD SPEEDS, plus broken modem admin utility/GUI Anybody else with an MB8600 notice very low upload speeds these past fee weeks? (Especially since the push of 8600-19.3.15?) Plus, 0 up on OFDMA, 1 down on OFDM. Acquire DS channel: 849000000 Hz. In re: the admin utility/GUI (192.168.100.1 ... THE EVENT LOG IS MISSING(?!!)... the complete list of channels is missing... the log out function is missing, etc. Anybody else with these issues? I’ve factory reset using the admin web utility/GUI, I’ve hard reset using the paper clip in the reset button on the back of the device, I’ve Cox modem reset, I’ve rebooted using the modem web admin utility, I’ve rebooted using the on/off button, I’ve power cycled by unplugging, I’ve unplugged the coax and plugged back in, etc... I’m in the New Orleans, LA market. THANK YOU!!2.2KViews1like5CommentsLas Vegas: Upload Stream Failures, Every Single Night
Cox, Fix your over-saturated nodes. Do it immediately. This is a national emergency situation, the government has asked us to stay home. My neighbors increased Netflix and FaceTime usage should not tank my internet service. Every, single, night I try to work and utilize my upload speed and it fails, every, single, night. You've already sent a tech out who "tightened a connection" and "fixed the problem", and its literally worse now then before. This is not your Tech's fault, this is a failure at the executive level. Cox, you are failing your customers in a very important time of need. Shame on you. I'll be filing my second FCC complaint in a year right now because of your refusal to provide me with the service I pay for. When my lease is up at my current residence in Las Vegas I'll be moving to another city with a responsible ISP, not because I want to, but because I cannot work and perform my job with Cox as my provider. Signed, Unfathomably disappointed customer.590Views1like1CommentUnreliable Connectivity & Upload Speeds
The internet at my home has been an ongoing issue for nearly 2 years now, but became 10x worse in the last 2 weeks with no changes to anything. I have tried 3 different routers, 2 different modems, upgraded to CAT8 cables and essential exhausted all options and troubleshooting on my end. I've paid out of pocket to have a Cox Technician come out and run a direct line to my room in hopes it would resolve the issue, no luck, perhaps worse even. Today I reached out via chat to a technical support representative and the tech rebooted the modem and believed the issue to be resolved, I knew this would not but did not have any way of getting this tech to escalate my issue. Moments after we ended our technical chat the upload speeds did a dip back to 0 so as I had suspected the issue indeed was not resolved. For a casual internet user it would only be a slight inconvenient. But I am an avid user that is trying to use a constant 10-20mbps upload for livestreaming, and video upload. The current devices I have installed at our home are Modem:ARRIS SURFboard SB8200 DOCSIS 3.1 - Link:https://a.co/d/1iOPeB1 Router:NETGEAR Nighthawk Pro Gaming WiFi 6 Router (XR1000) 6-Stream AX5400 - Link:https://a.co/d/3gflkNn I've also got a few sets of pingplotter results here Link: https://imgur.com/jzAHLWK Link:https://imgur.com/yZA3Jhb Link:https://imgur.com/CiUTJ0C Link:https://imgur.com/UbpTss7 If there's anything else I can provide to help resolve this please let me know and I'll do my best to gather any/all information needed.2KViews1like22CommentsInconsistent upload speeds when broadcasting to twitch
Inconsistent upload speeds when broadcasting to twitch I have had 10 techs come out, all could not solve the problem. Speed test are fine. They always are. I am trying to stream at 6mbs but it never even averages 3mbs, will go from 10mbs to 500kbs in seconds. again before any tech comes on here and asks me to run tests... they are all fine. all 5 of my tech visits for in home and out of home techs all said my speed tests AGAIN, ALL SPEED TESTS COME BACK NORMAL1.9KViews1like10CommentsHorribly slow upload speeds/high packet loss after a neighborhood internet outage - Southern California
Hello, There was an internet outage in my area on tuesday. After it was resolved, I have noticed upload speeds at less than .25 Mbps and packet loss above 5%. We have never had either issue in the past. I have checked both wired and wireless devices and all have the same issue. How can we have this looked in to? We pay a lot for internet and I would like this issue fixed immediately as I rely on internet for work.640Views1like2Comments
